| beast003's Full Review: Motorola StarTAC 6500 Cell Phone |
The phone is tiny. The absolute number one reason to buy the StarTac is because, quite simply, it is the most easily carried phone on the market.
But such a phone comes with a hefty price, and the gratuitously tiny buttons. It is a sin for any company to make buttons so hard to reach. The phone is fragile, almost frail, and every painstakingly pushed button feels like a dangerous move.
Yet there is no question that a bulky cell phone contradicts the whole point. The StarTac has excellent sound, and, as with the entire cell phone industry, is well marketed, so that a discount or cheap service plan is almost assured.
After all, a cell phone must be small. The StarTac is everything you might expect a small phone to be. Convenient, yet flimsy. However, I have yet to break anything except the battery pack, and that has to be said. All the same, the battery life is long enough, and I've never been cut out in mid sentence. The recharging system works efficiently.
Once a day is easily enough.
In such busy lives, we sadly need to be in touch. And there is no better way than to do it with a phone that fits EASILY into a pocket. The features are excellent: there is a functional phone number list, nice ringer controls, a large font, and flexible sound, so that you don't miss any words, even the people I know with hearing aids.
Like most things, you get what you pay for to a certain extent. But really make sure that size is your primary concern before you dish out $100+ for the phone. Isn't life hectic enough?
