| nplus1's Full Review: Motorola TalkAbout T2260 Cell Phone |
I purchased this phone for twenty dollars to use as a second line off of my existing service plan with AT&T. They had a plan where (for an additional ten dollars a month) you could get a second number off of the same pool of minutes.
The phone was for my girlfriend who has never owned a cell phone before, so I wanted to make sure that the Talkabout T2260 was the right phone for her. My first concern was that there was no vibrate functionality; but as the phone was too large to be carried easily on her person, she'd be carrying it in her bag or purse anyway. As she put it "I wouldn't use vibrate anyway!"
Battery Life is adequate. with several days (3?) of standby and more talktime (about 2-3 hrs) than my first phone (a nokia 918) had.
The display is easy to read and menus, while not necessarily as easy as the nokia I have aren't that bad. The hardest part is figuring out that the iconography on the screen matches that of the buttons.
The phone is caller ID capable and has a quick button for voicemail too.
My one pet peeve, however, is the antennae. It comes off the back of the phone at a weird angle that makes me fear it will snap off with prolonged use.
Overall, I'd have to say, that you get what you pay for...or maybe a little more. This is a good reasonably sturdy, general use phone. It doesn't have lots of bells and whistles nor does it have the slimmest profile; but if you want a good standard cell phone with good reception at a price you cant beat, this may be the phone for you.
