| rikkigirl's Full Review: Motorola V2397 Cell Phone |
I bought this phone on a prepaid phone plan (I wasn't expecting to use it much) and it came with all options for free. This includes text-messaging, email capability, caller ID, voice mail.
Programming numbers into the phone book is a snap, as is dialing out. There are many menus/submenus but one you get used to the button functions, it should be pretty simple to use. I found that I loved to send email over the phone since it used no airtime and my friends could email responses to me as well. This was easier than calling me in a non-emergency and would still get an immediately response since I could do this in the library or in lecture without distracting anyone.
The caller ID is great so you know exactly who is calling you and can choose whether or not to take the call. This is important when you're on the prepaid plan since every minute counts.
Just a word of caution, make sure you push the *end* button to disconnect. I thought I had done this when I was checking my voicemail but my phone had stayed on for about an hour (so much wasted money!)...oops, but that was completely user error.
The battery is pretty good, I recharge it every 3-4 days. I have it on stand-by 24/7 so it's good that it came with a strong battery.
The coverage area is pretty broad on my basic plan, I was even able to call from a cruise ship in the middle of the ocean! Never out of touch!
I like this phone, it's cute and works well. It's not the smallest phone out there but small enough for me to throw in a bag/purse everyday, anywhere I go. I recommend this.
