I have had many problems with my wisdom teeth, all starting when I was a teenager. After several trips to the dentist, they decided that surgically removing them was the only answer to my painful problems. I was 15 years old at the time and the thought of surgery terrified me. I am quickly approaching (6 days away) my 27th birthday, and you know what? I'm still too chicken to get them taken out! When my wisdom teeth begin making my life miserable I reach for Motrin IB.
~*~Cost & Location~*~
I purchased my bottle of Motrin IB containing 100 caplets at my local Wal-Mart for around $6.00. This product is available in bottles containing a larger or smaller quantity of pills. If I'm remembering correctly, 250 caplets was around $10.00, while the smaller bottles (can't remember exactly how many pills) were around $4.00, with prices varying depending on where you purchase them at.
~*~Just The Facts Folks~*~
Motrin IB, as I'm sure you have guessed by now, is a pain reliever/fever reducer. It contains Ibuprofen and is indicated to relieve muscle pain, headaches, minor arthritis, toothache, aches and pains from the flu and the common cold, fever, menstrual cramps and backache. Basically, if it hurts, this should help! Motrin IB does not contain Aspirin.
Motrin IB comes in a plastic child proof bottle. If I'm not mistaken you can choose from a couple of different pill variations. You can choose the gel coated caplets, or the regular caplets.
Adults are to take one caplet every 4-6 hours as needed. If one caplet doesn't do the trick, you can take two. Just don't exceed more than 6 caplets in a 24 hour time period. Children under the age of 12 are not to take this product unless directed by a physician.
The tricky thing with any Ibuprofen medication, including Motrin IB is that it can cause some pretty severe allergic reactions in some individuals. So, take with caution and do not exceed the recommended dosage.

Active: One Caplet: Ibuprofen (200 mg)
Inactive: Carnauba Wax, Cornstarch, Hydroxypropyl Methylcellulose, Iron Oxide Black, Pregelatinized Starch, Propylene Glycol, Silicon Dioxide, Stearic Acid, Titanium Dioxide

Sorry, the thought of being knocked out while a dentist drills, pulls, slices and dices is just not my cup of tea. Therefore I must suffer through the aches and throbbing pains. Thankfully there is Motrin IB. Well, that and a good hammer.
I was using Tylenol for my toothaches but quickly found that it just wasn't doing the trick. The relief was minimal and short lived. So, I gave up on that and started taking Motrin IB. Hallelujah! A toothache will drive you to the brink of insanity, and that is exactly what was happening to me. One dose of Motrin IB and within 25 minutes the pain had subsided substantially. I could eat without torture, and the persistent throbbing had become almost non existant. Best of all, the relief lasted a full 5 hours. Five hours of pain free bliss! Depending on the degree of pain I was experiencing, one caplet was all it took to relieve my pain. However, there have been a couple of times when two caplets was necessary because one just didn't relieve the pain enough.
Motrin IB also works well on a variety of other pains. It works well on my husband's back pain and on my headaches. As with my toothache, the medication begins relieving the pain quickly and the relief is long lasting. I found the narrow, gel coated caps extremely easy to swallow.
Of course Motrin IB hasn't cured my tooth pain. The only thing that will cure it is about $1,000 and a dentist. However, this product provides me with much needed relief. It acts quickly and lasts for a good length of time. I have experienced no side affects when using this product.
