The Bottom Line: Motrin IB is pain relief with a capital IB. A life saver when it comes to minor aches and pains. Not for all (allergy-prone especially) but highly effective for most.

What's with the title, you may be wondering? When it comes to medications, specifically over the counter pain relievers, I've come to learn that certain ones work for me, certain ones don't. Tylenol, for instance, has absolutely no effect on my system. Other medications will work for awhile and then lose effectiveness. I've heard this from other people as well, so it perhaps isn't so much a figment of my imagination as chemistry.
Such is how I came to try Motrin IB. I've had good luck with Ibuprofen based medicines, and Motrin IB came highly recommended to me by a voice of wisdom. Needless to say (due to my generous rating), Motrin IB has become a life saver when it comes to "that time of the month" and headaches, effectively combatting both in a matter of minutes. I just take two when the need arises, and in a half hour's time, I'm feeling back to normal.
Motrin IB is effective as a fever reducer and pain reliever. I've only used its pain relieving capabilities to my benefit, but happen to use children's Motrin when it comes to my son's fever, and it works wonders, but that is another review.
Each tablet is coated for ease of swallow, and equivalent to 200mg Ibuprofen. The recommended dosage is one tablet every four to six hours, but I've found that a dose of two tablets twice a day if necessary works best for me. The label does say two tablets may be used, but not to exceed six tablets in a twenty-four hour period.
It is recommended that this product be taken with food or milk, but I've taken it with just water before and have experienced no heartburn or irritation. Of course, I joke that I have a cast-iron stomach, so do what works best for you. Also, as allergies could result from the Ibuprofen, consult your doctor before using, and be sure to discontinue use and seek medical help immediately if hives, asthma or wheezing, facial swelling, or shock result. Do not use if you've had a history of allergic reactions to medications.
I'm not a doctor and don't play one on tv, but I can assure you Motrin IB works wonders for my chemistry. I highly recommend giving it a try if your doc gives the okay as it can be used for the temporary relief of headache, muscle aches, minor arthritis pain, toothache, backache, minor aches and pains due to the common cold, period cramps, and reducing fever. Motrin is a wonder drug when it comes to pain relief. I use it sparingly, but turn to it when necessary.
Best for those over twelve, Motrin IB may be just what you are looking for in a pain medication. It is highly effective for my chemistry, and here's hoping it mixes well with yours! No, it isn't little, yellow, or different, but it does the job well. Also, it is affordable and widely available, a name you can trust.
