Motrin Makes many Maladies Manageable!

My latest search for an effective pain reliever led me back to Motrin IB. For the past few weeks I had been putting off the extraction of 4 wisdom teeth that had begun to cause some painful toothaches. For 2 weeks I struggled, depending on the Tylenol in my medicine cabinet to ease the ache. Frankly, it did nothing for me. A friend, who is attending college to become a nurse, recommended Motrin IB. I have used Motrin IB in the past for a wide range of ailments, but had not believed that it would be effective on toothaches. Well, after trying Motrin IB on the most painful of toothaches, I am giving Motrin IB the seal of approval for pain relief!
I was pleasantly surprised to discover that my dentist recommended and offered Motrin IB for the pain relief of toothaches. At my visit to have the 4 wisdom teeth extracted, I was given 3 200mg Motrin IB prior to the oral surgery. My dentist recommends Motrin IB, which adds to my support of the product. It also takes an "edge" off of dealing with chronic pain until a more suitable, and permanent remedy can be found. I have used Motrin IB for many other ailments in the past. They include the following:
Muscle Aches/Sprains When my son sprained his ankle a few years back, Motrin was still a prescribed medicine. His doctor wrote out a script for Motrin to deal with the pain. Motrin IB seems to be effective in dealing with any type of aching pain, or pain related to the muscles and joints.
Backaches Backaches are a common recurring ailment for me. My pain tends to be in the lower back area and related to extra fluid on my sachral joints. The type of pain presented is a dull, aching pain, similar to that described by people who face arthritis or similar symptoms. Again, Tylenol has not proven effective for me with this type of pain, but Motrin IB works wonders on "aching" pain. For temporary flare ups of backaches, Motrin IB has been helpful. It cannot be taken for long periods of time, however, but then again, if a symptom is chronic, that would warrant a doctor's visit and the makings of a possible more serious condition.
Menstral Cramps I do not use this regularly for menstral cramps, but I know that it was very effective for post-partum aches, cramps, and general malaise.
Colds and fevers For the general symptoms related to the common, uncomplicated cold, Motrin IB seems to be a stronger remedy than other common pain relievers on the market. I like the fact that it can last up to 6 hours and that 1 200 mg capsule is usually enough to get me through the day. Motrin has also been proven to be a fever reducer.
Toothaches This is the main reason I am now sold on the effectiveness of Motrin IB. I lasted almost a week before seeing my dentist to have the wisdom teeth extracted by taking regular doses of Motrin IB. When the prescribed pain reliever is finished, I will rely on Motrin IB to relieve any lingering pain. Motrin IB worked in a matter of about 30 minutes to stop the aching, headache inspiring, persistent, pain of an intense toothache.
As I have mentioned, Motrin IB is effective for many different ailments and recommended and supported by many medical professionals. Motrin's main pain reliever is Ibuprofen. The recommended dose is 200 mg every 4-6 hours. For stronger pain, 2 of the 200 mg. caplets may be taken, not to exceed 6 caplets in 24 hours. It is recommended that you try one 200 mg caplet first, however, and increase the dose if necessary. Under my dentist's supervision, I was given a 600 mg dose prior to oral surgery. It is also suggested that you take Motrin IB with food or milk, to prevent any stomach upset. Motrin makes a seperate remedy designed for use by children under 12 years, and the adult strength is not recommended for their use.
Motrin IB is best for temporary pain management. It seems to be especially effective on various "aching" type of pains. As with any medication, if you experience any side effects such as the ones listed on the possible Motrin IB allergy alerts, do not continue using Motrin IB and call your doctor! The allergy alerts listed include; hives, facial swelling, asthma, and shock.
