| Couponaholic's Full Review: Motrin Migraine Pain |
As my name attests, I am an avid coupon user and that's what compelled me to try Motrin Migraine. When introducing a new product, many manufacturer's will issue a high-value coupon to get you to try it out. Motrin was no exception and recently a $3 off any size coupon appeared in my Sunday paper. That same week a local store had it on sale for $2.99...wow, that's free! Gotta pick it up for my friend who suffers greatly from migraines...can't beat the price, right?
So I grab my coupon file and head over to the store. I picked up three of the 50-ct. packages of Motrin Migraine and one of the Motrin IB for myself and headed victoriously to the checkout. While I was standing in line, I read the package labels to see what the magic migraine-relieving ingredient was in this new product. Imagine my amazement when I discovered that the two products were exactly the same!
Yep, that's right. The ingredients are identical. Same 200mg of ibuprofen as active ingredient and the inactive ingredients are listed in the exact same order as the Motrin IB! Oh, yes, I still bought all of the Motrin Migraine but instead of giving it to my friend, I saved it for me! The medication is obviously as effective as the regular Motrin IB since they're the same pills in different packaging so I figured I might as well get them.
This is a good product if you want a pain reliever so I give it four stars. I can't, in good conscience, give it five stars since I think the company is really deceiving the public. I really don't understand how the company can tout this product as a new product and get away with it, though. Putting an old medicine in new packaging and promoting it with a new ad campaign does not constitute honest business practices in my eyes. So if you have a headache, go ahead and give this a try. Just don't expect anything spectacular because Motrin Migraine isn't going to do any more for you than Motrin IB.
