| eldernurse's Full Review: Motrin Migraine Pain |
I have suffered from migraines for years, and as with most people who share this agony, I will try anything to lessen the intense pain and other associated symptoms.
Over the years I have tried non-prescriptions and prescription drugs as well as a wide variety of non medicinal remedies such as relaxation techniques, hot and cold packs, gel masks etc... I am very sensitive to medications so I have found that even though some prescription medications helped my migraine, the side effects were just as bad. Things such as eye masks and relaxation helped, but were not totally effective.
For the past few years I have used a combination of ibuprofen(Motrin IB or Advil) and relaxation to combat my migraine. I have found this to be quite effective and I suffer no side effects. My migraine has usually been reduced to a regular headache within 1-2 hours and then I can go back to my normal busy routine.
when I saw the advertisements for Motrin Migraine Pain, I became excited thinking that there was even a better alternative out there. I quickly picked some up without reading the label, and took it with my next migraine. Honestly it had no different effect than the ibuprofen I had always taken. When I read the label I discovered why....it had no additional active ingredients than regular Motrin IB. They just changed the name and packaging not to mention the inflated price.
I still use ibuprofen because it works, but I am certainly not going to pay more just because it say migraine on it. My advice to you is if Motrin, Advil or whatever brand of ibuprofen you use works on your migraines...buy it...but don't get taken by this deceptive advertising.
