We have tried all kinds of different bubble bath solutions but this one is the one that made the most bubbles in our bath. Its also one that we can find on a regular basis at whatever store we are shopping at.

We started using bubbles when my daughter was passionately against taking baths. The bubbles were used to entice her to get in and who can say no to an inviting pile of bubbles in a bath.
What do kids do with bubbles anyway? My kids try to catch the bubble, see how high they can pile the bubbles, make shapes out of the bubbles, blow them around, and pretend to cook with them. Bubbles are good for the imagination and really make kids happy. Bubbles are preferred over every single store-bought bath toy that we have. Plastic drinking cups, plastic kitchen spoon, and bubbles is really all you need to entertain a kid in the tub.
The bubbles come in an assortment of sizes. The smallest bottle is 16 fluid ounces and runs around $2.60. The one we currently have is the 40 ounce super size which has a built in handle which makes it easy to pour. Mr. Bubbles also come in an assortment of flavors but we stick to the original scent since we like it and the bottle is pink. According to my 5-year-old, pink is best.
This reminds me of bubble gum when I smell it but it smells like some kids variation of soap. It would be a suitable scent for either a boy or a girl.
Adding the bubbles is like adding fabric softener to the wash load; it has to be done at the correct time to be effective. We start our bath water and within a few seconds pour 1 ounce of bubbles into the stream as the water comes out of the faucet. The flow of the water helps build the bubbles up. Once the bath is full adding more bubble solution doesnt do anything except waste them. If you need more once you start bathing turning the bath water back on helps to bring them to life.
We have extremely hard water so maybe if you had soft water you would get even more bubbles than we do. Perhaps this brand is better or perhaps this brand works better in hard water. Either way, this one makes more bubbles for us than the ones with the character of the hour on the cap.
Our bubble bath solution really lasts for a long time because we dont get to use it very often. Our girls have eczema and sensitive skin so pretty much anything we use causes irritation. We are able to get away with using this for a quick bath every once in awhile and washing with our regular soap after were done playing with the bubbles.
Another major reason I try not to use this very often is that if I use this for a couple of days in a row my daughter complains that it hurts to go potty. Bubbles or soaps of any kind really, can cause irritation in that area. This Gentle Formula was no exception. The bottle also points out such possibilities with their caution on the bottle.
Caution: (as quoted from bottle) Use only as directed. Excessive use or prolonged exposure may cause irritation to skin and urinary tract. Discontinue use if rash, redness, or itching occurs.
Ingredients: (as quoted from bottle) Purified water, disodium laureth sulfosuccinate, sodium laureth sulfate, cocamide MEA, aloe barbadensis leaf juice, hydroxyethylcellulose, fragrance quaternium-15, tetrasodium, EDTA, citric acid, Red 33.
Overall I think this is good to keep on hand. The kids always look forward to a bubble bath and they come out smelling so clean. The bubbles lather up really well and keep their form for a long time. I'm ready to go long before the bubbles are.
