Pros: No major problems- but we'll buy a different Mr Coffee- with a timer.
Cons: Size- seems it could be more compact.
Don't like the deep basket designed for cones.
The Bottom Line: If you need a low-price coffee maker, and don't mind a small mess, and can remember to shut it off manually, this machine could be a good choice.

This coffeemaker is something a little different than the typical Mr Coffee models that we've used for years. Seems that the "improvements" sometimes cause problems. For instance, this model is designed to use the cone-type filters or the standard round pleated filters.
We had problems with the round pleated filters folding over and allowing coffee grounds into the pot, so we bought the cones. On occasion, even the cones can fold over. (They are guaranteed not to burst, but there's no mention of not collapsing).
Perhaps the most annoying feature we've seen is the little valve that's supposed to pause the coffee dripping process to allow you to pour a cup. For some reason, ours usually lets a puddle of coffee spill out and sputter on the warmer while we get that "early" cup. So the machine is "teaching" us to wait until the pot is full before filling our cups.
I suppose the manufacturer's representatives could point out reasons for this less-than-ideal performance, but I'm not gonna spend phone time trying to get a human to talk with me from a large company.
We bought this product because we were in a hurry to get back home with our groceries (a 90-mile round trip) and it was the only unit available in our price range.
We do like the coffee it makes, and it's easy to maintain, but we don't like the mess it makes on the warmer.
We also are puzzled by the two holes formed in the rear wall of the water tank. Could they be overflow holes to keep from overfilling? Never heard of this before!
