Mr. Toad's Wild Ride.

Written: Aug 15 '06 (Updated Aug 23 '06)
Pros:fun for all ages, lots of things going on.
Cons:Hell scene may scare some younger children.
The Bottom Line: A fun ride for children of all ages

This is a children’s ride that takes you on adventure. You get to play the part of Mr. Toad driving a 2 seated vehicle. Any you don’t just stay on the road, no, you drive on every surface you come across. Nothing is impossible for the daring Mr. Toad.

The queue line.
There isn’t much of a queue line. Nothing interactive, nothing too entertaining, unless you think statues and pictures on a wall is entertainment.
You have on small zig zag inside the building that is pretty short. On most week days of the year this is all you will need. On the more popular days the line will weave back and forth in a courtyard to the north (left) of the entrance.

The cars
You are in a horseless carriage that seats two people side by side. The person on the right has a small steering wheel they can play with.

The ride.
The ride is a bit wacky. Almost like the driver is drunk swerving all over the countryside. It is designed to put you in the role of toad (the driver) and give you a toad’s eye view of toad’s many adventures. And just like toad, you will be going anywhere and everywhere.
You start off in Toad Hall, actually that’s what the outside of the building looks like. You load up in a car and proceed to burn rubber around a library, a fireplace, and through a couple of doors. You then find yourself outside running people over, breaking through things, and causing plenty of mayhem.
You eventually find your way to a judge that pronounces you guilty, run away in a train tunnel, and finally come face to face with a moving train (I highly recommend you not do this in the real world.) It ends with a not so cute hell theme, then it’s over as quickly as it began.

Height limit.
No limit. Babies should be able to hold up their heads on their own (about 6 months.).

How rough is it.
Not very. The car whips around a bit but nothing that will shake you up because the ride is going so slow (it just feels fast due to the constant turns.) There are even bumps but the bumps aren’t very jarring either.

Location.
Disneyland. Anaheim, California. It is located in Fantasyland right next to Peter Pan. The entrance faces the merry go round.

Fast pass
No.

Hidden Mickey’s
One the third set of doors, still in view of the queue line, there is a small Mickey head on the right door about 2 feet up from the ground. It is very small and you will need some sort of binoculars and/or flashlight to see it from the queue line. Once you know where it is it is easy to see when the car passes through the door.

The Rating.
While I enjoy this ride and it’s is great with the kids, it just is not all that exciting. In my scale I view it as above average so I will give it a 3.6. But I’m leaving it a 3 instead of rounding up.
