What is Mulholland Madness?
Mulholland Madness is a smaller rollercoaster located in the Paradise Pier section of Disneys California Adventure. Mulholland Madness is a "wild mouse" type coaster, so it has sharp turn and steep drops. Its the type of coaster that makes you feel like you are going to shoot right off of the coaster track, right before it turns quickly in the other direction. Mulholland Madness has steep 20 foot drops that are quite exhilarating, and the quick turns always keep you excited.
The Experience
After waiting in the queue, you board a small- 4 seater vehicle (2 rows of 2 seats). You are pulled up a very steep chainlift to about 40 feet up. Then the fun begins as your car begins to dart around the track, and going down steep drops. The ride is themed after LA's famous Mulholland Drive, and the rides background is a large California Roadmap.
Is the ride for everyone?
No, the Mulholland Madness is loved by some, and hated by some. Some people do not like the quick 90 degree turns, or the steep drops. Most kids do really like this ride. However, there is a 48" height requirement, which is good because I dont think anyone younger than that would appreciate the ride. So if you suffer from motion-sickness, neck problems, or are pregnant I would probably skip this ride. However, most people enjoy the fun and thriling ride.
When to Go?
You can ride the Mulholland Madness pretty much anytime. You might want to ride later in the day from 5-8. This ride does use the FASTPASS system, but I would just wait in the queue (the line moves pretty fast).
