| mommykd's Full Review: Munchkin Diaper Duck Trash Bags (55101) |
I bought the Munchkin Diaper Duck Diaper Trash Bags just before my son was born. I thought it was just about as cute as it could be, and that it would be a convenient way to carry bags to dispose of diapers when we were away from home.
About the Duck
Munchkin Diaper Duck Diaper Trash Bags looks just like you see in the picture here - The container is about 4 inches tall with the little yellow duck sitting on top. It contains 12 perforated and disposable blue bags. The idea is to pull on bag at a time out of the container through the opening on the side. Each bag is the perfect size to dispose of 1 diaper, wipes, etc. The bags are unscented. I purchased mine for $3.99 and it also contained a roll of refill bags. (Qty of 12 also)
Is he all he's Quacked up to be?
I liked the idea of convenience in a portable and cute design. What I got was a lot of trouble! When I tried to pull the first few bags out, they did not come out easily, and the duck came off the top. The bags got all bunched up, and when I tried to make the duck fit back on, the whole roll fell out and unrolled. I had to reroll - very tightly to get the duck to fit back on top of the container. OK, this is already not convenient! Again, the bags did not pull out easily.
The bags
The bags are great. They are unscented, but at least they aren't the fragrance that smells worse than the diaper you're putting in the bag! They are the perfect size for disposing of a single changing - diaper, wipes, etc. I used these bags when changing a friend's 22 month old, and didn't have a problem fitting the larger diaper in the bag either. They do not, however, have flaps or twist ties to tie them closed. Each bag is also printed (in black) with the suffocation warning to keep away from babies and children.
My overall opinion
Just buy disposable bags - I don't think it's worth the extra $$ to purchase the Munchkin Diaper Duck. The bags themselves are convenient and nice to have in the diaper bag, in my purse, in the van, etc. to keep on hand when changing baby on the go. I usually just roll off about 4 or 5 and stash them in the diaper bag or wherever. They are so small, I've even folded one up and put in my pocket. As for the duck - well he just sits in the drawer of the changing table.
