Pros: Cute
Cons: A hassle, not an economical item that we will get our monies worth from..
The Bottom Line: Don't buy it. Really not that great of an item. More of a show item than anything else.

| Annie_Crane's Full Review: Munchkin Diaper Duck Trash Bags (55101) |
Who in the heck came up with the idea to make a Diaper Duck Trash Bag holder? I gotta tell ya, my guess is that who ever invented and sold that idea to Munchkin is laughing all the way to the bank.
Lets get real folks, do we really need to cram anymore items in our diaper bags than what we already do? Fact is, the Munchkin Diaper Duck Diaper Trash Bags holder is rather small while also being a rather huge pain in the rear.
Munchkin Diaper Duck Diaper Trash Bags is a small holder about two inches high, not counting the rubber ducky sitting on the top of the roller. If you remove the duck, then you are actually opening the bag holder where you will insert another set of rolled bags.
Munchkin claims that the Diaper Duck is the easiest and most convenient way to dispose of dirty diapers while you are on the go. Actually, that is not true. The easiest way to dispose of dirty diapers is to just throw them in the trash can, in the same bathroom where you are changing that stinky diaper! Think about it, you are already throwing away something that is going to take quite a few years to break down, while throwing it into a garbage can lined with a garbage bag that is going to take even longer to break down, why would you want to tie it up nice and tight in another bag that is going to take just as long as the first bag to break down? That diaper is going to out live you! And if you add one more fact to the equation, the diaper stinks, but more than likely, so does that public bathroom you are standing in. So why conceal one stick from the other?
Now it is understandable to want to conceal the stench of a dirty diaper if you are in your friends house, doctors office, or airplane, but truthfully, the cheapest way to do that is to just tie it up in one of those plastic bags provided by the stores you shop in. For instance, Wal-Mart, Shopko, Kmart, etc
will give you these every time you pay for something, unless you state that you dont want one. And they flatten out just as nice and can be rolled up and placed right in your diaper bag, alongside your diapers and wipes.
So why pay $5.00 for an item that can be as difficult as the Munchkin Diaper Duck Diaper Trash Bags?
Difficult?
Yes, difficult.
It is a menace to remove the bags from the slot which is designed to let you pull the bags out of the little roller. It doesnt work as easy has inventors hoped though. You have to fumble with the little roller to get the end of the bag to the slot in order to even begin trying to remove it, then if the roller is full, you have to tug and twist to get the bag out, then manage to unfold the unrolled bag, then fill it with air to get the dirty diaper down inside of it, then twist it closed and tie a knot in it. Meanwhile, keeping your hands on your son or daughter so they dont figure out a way to get out of the blanket youve placed on the public diaper changing table or even wiggle out of the little belt attached to the table itself.
The best use I have found for the Munchkin Diaper Duck Diaper Trash Bags is the actual fact that it makes a great distraction for my child to play with when I am trying to get the bag open and dirty diaper in and then tied. My child is somewhat preoccupied with it while I am busy messing with the blue bags.
What you get when you purchase the Munchkin Diaper Duck Diaper Trash Bags is; two rolls of 24 blue bags, the blue storage roller and one yellow rubber ducky on top of the bag holder/roller. You can buy refill packs of three for the same price as the Munchkin Diaper Duck Diaper Trash Bags which cost $4.99. Where you will keep the extra refills until you use them, is up to you, but if you keep them in your diaper bag, and the little sticky tab that is used to hold it closed until use, comes undone, you will have an unrolled mess before you know what hit you.
All in all, it is much easier to just reach inside my diaper bag and pull out a rolled up plastic store bag, snap it open with one flick of the wrist, chunk that diaper in, tie the handles closed and viola, dirty deed done dirt cheap!
The Munchkin Diaper Duck Diaper Trash Bags is a cute idea, but not a great idea. Moms, dads, unless you are trying to impress someone with neat gadgets in your diaper bag, save yourself the money and just roll up a couple of store bags and stuff them in beside your diapers. It all serves the same purpose and ends up being a whole lot cheaper in the end.
;o)
