We purchased a dishwasher basket when my first child was born and we used it heavily with his bottle pieces, my washable breast-pump parts, and even sippy-cup pieces as he got older. It was very flimsy but it did the job of keeping small parts from being lost in the dishwasher. Shortly before my 2nd child arrived I stumbled across Munchkin's Deluxe Dishwasher Basket at Target and I had to have it because it improved upon everything I didn't like about my old basket.

Munchkin Deluxe Dishwasher Basket is a sleek and sturdy top-rack dishwasher basket. The plastic is thick and holds its shape nicely, with a lid that locks securely down when closed. There are 2 sections to the basket - a top part for holding bottle nipples and the larger bottom area for holding a variety of things (sippy cup valves, small kiddie utensils, breast-pump parts, etc). Each side has flip-down straw holders which can hold 4 straws apiece (for a total of 8 straws).

The basket measures 7½ inches wide, 4½ inches deep, and 5 inches tall. The openings in the bottom of the basket are less than an inch wide and ½ inch across. The widest openings on the sides are 1¼ inches wide (and ½ inch tall). It does a great job of holding our small items securely while allowing the water to come through and cleanse them.

The one we have is white and blue (like the one pictured above), but they are also available in other colors. Munchkin also sells a "junior" version which is roughly half the size of this one with 4 straw holders. We have one of each size, and the smaller one is good for when we overflow the larger basket.

My favorite thing on the Munchkin Deluxe Dishwasher Basket is the straw holders. My eldest loves drinking from the straw-based sippy cups, but I always worried about getting the non-disposable straws cleaned well enough on the inside. The basket holds the straws vertically up-and-down, helping to insure proper cleansing, and the holders have little grippy grooves so they can hold a variety of straw sizes securely. The straw holders fold flat against the side of the basket when not in use.

The top part of the basket is for holding bottle nipples, with 10 circular holes up top for the nipples to poke through and catches on the base to hold them firmly in place (http://www.munchkininc.com says it can hold 14 nipples - I'm not sure how that works). We used Avent bottles with their oversized nipples, so we never could fit all 10 on top but could get quite a few up there.

I highly recommend this product! It saves me from hand-washing so many things, and is much nicer than any other dishwasher basket I've seen available.
