pakkiemal's Full Review: Murad Acne Complex Starter Kit
Ok...so I am an average young American. I'm not rich and like many other people I have bad acne. Well, I had been a user of Proactiv solution(see recent epinion) in the past and was considering buying it again to rid this darn adult set acne.
Well one night I was up late and saw the commercial for Murad Acne Complex. I am an infomercial addict. I get caught up in all the testimonials and I truly want to believe that the product being pitched works. After hearing over and over that Murad works and that only REAL people appear in the commercials (as opposed to paid actors), I thought I'd try the product.
I figured it was just a cheaper alternative to Proactiv. I mean...it was advertised as a 3 pc kit and it also came with a clarifying mask..sounds like Proactiv to me. The advertisers even say "compare our system to Proactiv." Well, boy was I wrong. All I have to say is that I'm glad I only bought the 30 day starter kit at 19.99 plus s/h instead of the full size kit. Serves me right for trying to save a buck, but like I said I'm not rich.
Some positive points about the company are that the Murad system did arrive pretty quickly in the mail, about 3 days. I was so excited when it arrived. Ease of use is good too. It just takes 3 steps. First you use the cleanser which is self explanitory. Unlike Proactiv however the second step was this weird exfoliating gel instead of a toner. You just apply it to your face and leave it on. Finally, once that has dried you put on the lotion.
I understand that when starting a new treatment for acne it can get worse before it gets better. It even says that on the instructions, but the results I got were ridiculous. I'm convinced that it was the exfoliating gel that made my face so bad. I had awful acne before I used Murad but after just a few days my whole face was red and broken out.
My acne was usually focused on the dreaded t-zone and forehead with the occasional extremely large and noticable zit on my cheeks. After using Murad I broke out ALL OVER. I know some skeptics out there will say that I didn't give it a chance, but just to prove that it wasn't me, I used all the contents. It never got better in the whole month. What a fool I am.
I highly recommend against purchasing this product. If you have acne and are considering buying a product online or off the tv, I suggest Proactive. I bought it right after the Murad Acne Complex ran out and now FINALLY my skin is getting better. I have never had such bad results with any product before. I've had OTC products that didn't make my acne better but never did it get worse because of a product...well not until I tried Murad.
In closing, DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT.
