| svkingcrew's Full Review: Music and Lights Sit'n Spin |
My daughter received her SIT & SPIN as a birthday gift this past year. I knew from a friend that had bought them for her children, that it may not be something my child would be interested in. We gave the SIT & SPIN a try anyway.
The first day my daughter was thrilled with it, but it was quite a tight squeeze for her. She is 4 years old and about 44 inches tall and her legs were a little long to wrap around comfortably. It took her a while to get the hang of holding on and spinning herself. When she finally got the hang of it half the time she slid right off the seat. She played with the SIT & SPIN for about 15 minutes and then she was bored with it.
Her 2 1/2 year old brother decided to give it a try. He stood on the base where your bottom goes and slipped and fell back and hit his head. After teaching him the correct way of using the sit and spin he loved it. He loves pressing the 4 lighted buttons on top and making the SIT & SPIN "sing to him".
The "handle" of the sit and spin does not seem as though it is very well put together. You do have to assemble this part yourself, but once it is put together it is not very sturdy. The "handle" seems to wobble around a lot.
All in all I have found that the sit and spin is better for older toddlers and not preschool aged children. It may spark any child's interest for 15-20 minutes, but it's not a toy that is going to be a life long favorite. At least not in our household.
I know the price paid for the SIT & SPIN was $19.99, and personally I cannot justify paying nearly $20 for this SIT & SPIN. It's just not worth the money. I know of plenty of other toys out there that would interest my child a lot more for $20 than the SIT & SPIN.
