Pros: The most durable tea set I have ever seen and we have been through many.
Cons: The tune it plays when you tip the pot sounds like Grandpas cell phone.
The Bottom Line: The best tea set for little ones. Adorable and durable is the best way to explain the Musical Tea Set.

My daughter simply adores her Fisher-Price Musical Tea Set. I could not be happier with it either. We must have gone through at least 10 tea sets over the course of 4 years and none have survived. True we have a cup from one and maybe a spoon from another but nothing even close to a whole tea set.
I had done all of my daughters birthday shopping when she let me in on her little surprise. The day before her birthday while dropping her off at pre-school she tells me "I am getting a tea party for my birthday". Uh Oh I had not even thought of buying one. Lucky for me Grandpa had not bought anything yet the last minute shopper he is. I went shopping with him and picked it out. It was an affordable 14.95 (or maybe 14.99). The price was more than just right for the product. There were other tea sets on the shelf made of that cheap plastic selling for around the same.
At first glance you can see this tea set stands out from the crowd. The bright red trustworthy Fisher-Price label is the first thing that grabs your attention. You can also tell right away without even touching the box that this set will hold up against the rough play of a young child. Another thing that caught my attention was the batteries were already in it. I love when I don't have to worry about forgetting to buy batteries before leaving the store. I also like being able to test it which you can from a little hole in the box. The tune was cute and not overly annoying. I did not realize though it has a different little tune every time the tea pot is tipped to its side. This is not bad but Grandpa kept grabbing for his cell phone all of the way home. The tune it plays when tipped sounds exactly like his cell phone ring.
Katie opens her presents and finds her tea set. Out of all of her presents this was her favorite. It has a sturdy plastic serving tray. Everything fits on the tray but I do think if they had made it just a tad bit bigger the cups would fit more easily. There are 4 cups, 4 saucers,4 spoons, a creamer, a sugar bowl that has a lid, and of course the tea pot which is the center of the set. There is a button on top which plays "I'm a Little Tea Pot" when pressed. It also plays a short tune when you tip the pot. The tea pots lid comes on and off easily. Inside the lid is where the music box is. This comes in handy if you do get sick of hearing the song. Your child can still enjoy the whole set minus the singing top for a while.
Katie has been having a blast with the set. I love that all of the kids can play with it and I don't find myself every few minutes saying "be careful it might break". Also it is not a dinky little set. It is not too big for young children but not so small it is completely unrealistic as many sets are. The colors are very appealing to little ones. I honestly love the soft pastel colors too. It reminds me of springtime and Easter.
The Musical Tea Set is so well made it is unlike any other tea set I have seen. The plastic is not that cheap kind that cracks easily. It is for ages 2 and up and they obviously made it with the rough play of a child in mind. There is not a single part of this set that even my 7 year old boy could break. You would have to really try hard and even then I think it may require driving a car over it.
Overall in my opinion every little girl should have this set. I wish I would have had this all along. Don't waste your money on all of those cheaply made sets.
They also have their website listed on the box in big bold print. www.fisher-price.com.
