Pros: Eliminates the need to buy insanely priced and very wasteful k cups
Cons: Makes extremely weak watery coffee
I considered buying a keurig coffee maker for a while, but couldn't justify buying k cups. The my k cup seemed like the perfect solution. I agreed to purchase a keurig only because I thought the my k-cup would keep us from having to buy the extremely costly, and wasteful plastic k cups. While it cost over $20 I thought it would be worth it. What we found, however, is that it makes super weak coffee every time. I am not a coffee "snob" and in general, I do not require very strong coffee, but this stuff is WEAK. It is undrinkable. When you look inside after brewing a cup, you can see that the coffee grounds are pushed up against the sides of the my k cup basket, as thought the water just runs right through the center without making much contact with the coffee. We tried different grinds of coffee, different amounts of coffee, and we even tried forcing a coffee filter in there to slow down the flow of water, but nothing helped. I am highly disappointed. I hope that the design of the my k cup will be improved. If it does, I might buy another one.
