Pros: Excellent taste, unique Halloween item, inexpensive.
Cons: Seasonal item, hard to find, can be a complete mess if it melts.
I got hooked on the Halloween flavors of My Lip Stuff balms when someone gave me one in the Harvest Festival [Pumpkin Spice Latte] flavored balm tubes. Normally I don't wear any type of daily balm or lipstick unless my lips are wind-burned or are chapped. That all changed when I started using the Harvest Festival. That's when I discovered the limited edition Halloween products like "Spooky Ghosts", a very interesting marshmallow flavored lip balm that tastes great, is made from natural ingredients and makes for a great trick or treat item. Let's face it, Carmex works great but there are times when the smell and taste of it can make you gag so having something like this to wear and use can be a nice alternative.
The tubes are an ounce and a half of balm and they last a couple of months with regular use. I didn’t think that Annabelle would want to use something like this because of the taste of it but compared to some of the lip balms that she asked for [Hannah Montana, Hello Kitty etc], the various flavors I have purchased from the site have all met her approval. The Spooky Ghosts / marshmallow is one of her favorites so far but there are so many to choose from that it's going to take a while to get through them all. Since this is something that is applied to the lips it isn’t something that I share, even with her. When she sees a flavor she thinks she might like I order one just for her. Some flavors are available in a pot form instead of a tube but those can be messy in the summer if they heat up and leak. The same thing can happen with the tubes of the lip balm since there is beeswax and several different types of oil in the formulation.
What does it taste like? Well, you aren't eating it but you do get a light marshmallow flavor from it once you apply it. I was happy that the Spooky Ghosts flavor wasn't strong and that it didn't have the same rank taste as some of the icky flavored lip balms that I had purchased in the past. This isn't the same stuff that is sold at Hot Topic; they have stuff that resembles My Lip Stuff products but they cost about a dollar more and are a little too greasy for me. When I am wearing a lip balm product I don't want it all over my face. You can wear lipstick or lip pencil over this but it will make it smear easier than if those products were worn alone. Since I don't really go over the top with makeup on a daily basis this isn't a problem for me.
You can get this online at their website for about $2.50 a tube but there are price breaks for ordering more than one. There are a couple of people that I know that order from the site often and it is easer for me to give them the money and have them order what I want to get. They do offer samples and freebies from item to time so if you try their products and like them you can check the website for some cool deals. Some people might think that paying $2.50 for a tube of lip balm is a waste of money but I think that they are some of the best non-medicated balms around. They work to help my chapped lips and most of the flavors are delicious. I love the fact that they donate to charities and that a little slice of the money I spend with them and on their products is passed on.
This product contains: sunflower oil, beeswax, coca butter, sweet almond oil, castor oil, jojoba oil, avocado oil, aloe vera and flavoring. It is not tested on animals and My Lip Stuff tries to recycle boxes and packaging materials to help the environment. Whether you go with a tube or a pot of My Lip Stuff you will have an amazing selection of flavors to choose from and something that will make your lips look and feel great!
