Pros: Lightweight, pleasantly scented gel that keeps your makeup put and prevents caking.
Cons: Hefty price tag, but well worth it for the benefits.
The Bottom Line: I couldn't be happier with this product! If you're looking for something to keep you from needing to reapply your makeup throughout the day, you've come to the right place.

| xiola25's Full Review: Nars Makeup Primer |
I'm going to be a bridesmaid in my sister's summer wedding and will be doing my own makeup. This has me scrambling to find the best possible products on the market to keep me from having to reapply throughout the big day! Especially since being outdoors in summertime has always presented my biggest cosmetic challenges. When I discovered NARS primer while searching for new products online, it sounded promising enough to be worth a shot, despite it being a bit higher priced than I'd normally like.
NARS' Product Description:
Preps skin with soothing botanicals to pamper the skin and create a protective base for longer-lasting, natural looking foundation application and wear. The airy, lightweight oil-free gel cream formulation helps reduce redness and inflammation while increasing hydration. Worn under foundation, powder or alone, the result is translucent, healthy looking skin.
1.75 Fl. Oz. 51mL
My Experience:
I apply NARS Makeup Primer to my clean, dry face. It goes on very light, not sticky in the least, even after drying on your skin. The scent is pleasant with a slight aloe kick, but not the least bit overwhelming. Perhaps it's psychological, but my skin actually feels more radiant and awake after I apply this gel!
I've worn this two ways: with moisturizer underneath, foundation and powder on top and also with a moisturizer and just powder on top. Both ways worked quite well and left my makeup looking fresh and natural all day, no caking or streaking or even wearing away to speak of. I am sold!
One suggestion I would make for those with an oily t-zone is to make sure you use some kind of matte moisturizer underneath this product in oil-prone areas. I did find that shine still managed to make its way through in my nose area after a few hours and when reapplying powder, it did take on a more cakey look. I would definitely suggest applying your makeup only once after using this primer. If done with proper care, re-application should not be necessary.
I would definitely recommend this product! In my opinion, it definitely delivers on its promises and I will be keeping it as a part of my daily regimen going forward. Although the price tag is a bit hefty, I found it to be worth the cost. Since only a thin layer is necessary for application, one tube will last a long time, even with daily use.

Where To Purchase the Product:
NARS Makeup Primer can be purchased at various websites online, including www.narscosmetics.com and www.sephora.com. It is $32 in each of these places however, so I would recommend www.beauty.com where it is only $30. If you prefer to purchase your cosmetics in the store, it is available at Sephora and Neiman Marcus.
