| Tropik's Full Review: Mitsubishi LCD52 LCD Monitor |
I purchased this product refurbished from Ubid.com because of its low price ($600). It was very easy to install (the hardest part was taking my old CRT monitor off my desk). I really like it because it's very light and it saves tons of desk space, which is really great for college. However, the quality is very lacking. There are two defective pixels (little tiny dots of discoloration) that drive me nuts. As well, whenever there is black text over a gray background (very common in Windows 98) the text seems to have rolling bars through it. This can be very distracting. After playing with the settings, it seems like this problem is fixable. As well, on the edges of the screen, there is really annoying pixel movement. However, black text on a white background is very clear. As well, the on screen display is a cinch to use.
All in all, I am not impressed with the quality of this monitor, however, I am gladly sacrificing that quality for the convenience of an LCD monitor at a great price.
**UPDATE: 9/26/00**
I have been using the Mitsubishi LCD52 in my dorm room for over a month now. I am very glad that I bought it. It's an awesome space saver. As well, the quality seems much better than when I originally bought it. It just takes a little bit of tweaking the settings. I would even go as far as to say that the quality is good. My only complaint now is the fact that its highest resolution is 1024x768. I am used to working with lots of desktop room for my apps, and I am not used to this smaller resolution. Many of you, however, maybe accustomed to this size.
