Pros:Excellent quality; waterproof; durable; stylish; comfortable padding
Cons:Air Max padding might wear out sooner than later; expensive
The Bottom Line: The Nike Air Max Goadome Boots definitely provides me comfort for my feet and back. Plus, it adds a couple of inches to my already short frame.
I am the type of person that buys clothes and shoes only out of necessity. If I find something I like I will wear it until it is finally tattered and torn while falling off my body. Okay, not that extreme but you get the point. I replace things when it is required. That’s what happens when I needed a new pair of boots when my old ones finally met its maker. Shopping for me is never a pleasant experience so if I can find something that suits my needs, then that’s exactly what I will get. Oh, and if the price is right as well. Somehow that’s how I ended up with Nike Air Max Goadome Men’s Boots.
When I first saw this boot, I thought it looked like a cross between Air Jordan’s high tops and a boot, and that’s exactly what is turned out to be. The attraction for me really is the Nike Air Max padding. It is usually found in its sneaker line so this became a bit of a novelty for me to find it in this boot. But when you really think about it, why not? It’s all about being comfortable and I do know from experience that the Nike Air Max provides that in spades. It basically helps your shoes retain its heel shape, which becomes problematic over time.
I know what it’s like to have sore feet. I’ve been at jobs where I’ve had to stand for hours. Not only does your feet hurt and get tired but your lower back as well. Without good support for your feet, your back receives some of that discomfort. When I tried the Nike Air Max Goadome, I felt a huge immediate difference. First, I got a bit disoriented because it really did feel I’m flying just a little bit. I think the extra height made me a bit giddy. The air pockets definitely help cushion my feet whenever I walk and stand. My only concern is how long will this hold up. I have seen instances where the air pockets can lose the ability to hold air. When that happens, there is a slight adjustment in how you walk as a result. So far I haven’t had that situation happen to me with these boots but it’s something that’s always in the back of my mind.
Breaking in new boots is always unsettling at first. It feels like something heavy is pressing against my ankles and rubbing it the wrong way. That corrected itself in a short amount of time once the boots conformed to my feet but it’s annoying at first. Considering I also have wide feet, I had to make sure that this really was a good fit for me because I hate trying to squeeze my feet into something that won’t give me any leeway.
The quality of the boot is amazing. It is lightweight but offers lots of protection. The leather casing is waterproofed and the durable metal hardware trim helps the boot retain its proper shape. I do worry about the stitching because it looks like it will eventually start to fray away. This happens to any type of boots I have worn so it’s not as alarming as it used to be but I still find it a nuisance.
I really wanted to test it out in the snow during wintertime. Unfortunately (or fortunately depending on how you look at it), I’ve only had the chance to test this out a few times considering that’s how many times snow has fall around here. There are a few things a really liked when this happened. My feet stayed dry, thanks to the waterproof leather. My feet were also warm as a result. And I didn’t slip at all because on the excellent All-Trac rubber outsole along with the lug pattern. This allows for maximum traction. It tested even better in muddy situations allowing me to retain my balance without slipping.
I also like that it is stylish so it doesn’t look out of place when wearing it out of the house. I can easily put these on and not feel self-conscious about myself. The brown colour I have fits with almost anything that I usually wear out.
My Nike Air Max Goadome Men’s Boot is definitely a huge step up from all previous boots I have owned. It is a bit expensive retailing for a regular price of $155.00. I was lucky to have bought these for $75.00, almost half the price so I am not complaining about that. It’s an investment just like anything else but it’s definitely a good and worthwhile one. I know my feet and back are thankful for it.
