Obviously if you are reading this article you have either been given the task of reviewing individual's epinions, or you are seriously interested in exactly what Stacker 2 is, what it does, how it does it, and if it actually works. For those of you that have come to seek both fact and opinion, I will try my best to give you the information you seek.
Stacker 2, WWE, Kenny Wallace...What Does It All Mean?
If you have ever turned your television to a station that carries or advertises either WWE wrestling or NASCAR racing, chances are that you have seen an ad in some form or another pitching Stacker 2 as the "World's Strongest Fat Burner." While that statement may seem like propaganda and smack of capitalism, there is some truth to the fact that it vigorously burns fat.
When one goes to the dietary supplement section in a pharmacy or supermarket, one can quickly become overwhelmed by the sheer number of selections that are available and the claims each makes. It would seem as if each product has the potential to slice the fat off of you like a knife through hot butter. I however, can only vouch for Stacker 2 as it is the only supplement I have ever taken.
If you have enough patience to search through all the brightly colored bottles with exuberant claims, you should eventually come across the Stacker 2's...for those with shorter attention spans, look for the yellow/orange bottle/package with the word Stacker in bold, a (2) inside a star, and an American flag to the left. I guess it is the only patriotic fat burner out there :)
If I am not mistaken, there are 4 different versions of Stackers out there: Stacker 2, Stacker 2 Ephedra Free, Stacker 2 Lite, and Stacker 3 (shudders), be sure to select the correct one, in this case the regular Stacker 2's.
Stacker 2: What It Does and How It Does It
Stacker 2 operates on the notion of the ECA stack. The ECA stack (in body builder terms) is the combination of Ephedra, Caffeine, and Aspirin. By mixing the three together you are giving your metabolism a quick kick in the rear, which in turn, speeds up the fat burning process.
You will be quick to notice however, that none of the above are listed on the bottle as an ingredient. That is because Stacker 2 is a supplement that uses herbs that are equivalent to Ephedra (ephedrine extract: MaHuang) Caffeine (Kola Nut seeds, Green Tea leaves) Aspirin White Willow Bark. Fret not however, this is not an idea that was conceived by a witch doctor, rather it is supported by scientific study. As a matter of fact, any product based on the ECA stack should work based upon the science behind it. It can't help you if you are dead, however.
WARNING: HOW STACKER 2 and EPHEDRA CAN BE DEADLY
You must be cautious of anything you put in your body and Stacker 2 w/ephedra is certainly worthy of concern and education.
Sadly, ephedra has been linked to the deaths of several athletes recently, thus it is vital that you listen to your body and follow the directions on the label when taking any supplement with it as an ingredient.
The label clearly suggests that you take ONE (1) capsule after MEALS and not exceed three daily
Let us evaluate that statement: You should only take one pill after eating a meal...no more than (1) and not on an empty stomach. I would guess that taking Stacker 2 on an empty stomach would greatly increase the risk of side effects such as dizziness, headaches, and jitteriness. Also, do not fall into erroneous thinking that you can double your results if you double your dose: you are only playing a DEADLY game with body chemistry.
The label clearly states that this product is not for use of individuals under the age of 18 years or anyone who is pregnant or nursing.
Let us evaluate that statement: While it may seem harmless, ephedra can prove deadly to those whose bodies are not fully formed as well as those that are going through the hormone hell known as the teenage years. You should look elsewhere for weight/fat control products. In addition I must add that when you try to purchase this product you WILL be carded. If your ID shows you are not of sufficient age, like alcohol, sale will be refused. In some states such fat burners are illegal. With regard to childbearing, one must be wary of what one passes into the baby's body. Such ingredients are unnecessary and harmful to the fetus.
The label clearly states that one should consult a physician or licensed qualified health professional before using this product if you: HAVE OR HAVE HAD A HISTORY OF HEART DISEASE, THYROID DISEASE, DIABETES, HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE, RECURRENT HEADACHES, DEPRESSION OR OTHER PSYCHIATRIC CONDITION, GLAUCOMA, DIFFICULTY IN URINATING, PROSTATE ENLARGEMENT, OR SEIZURE DISORDER.
The above statement is self explanatory, but I must point out that it is recommended that you consult your doctor before beginning any weight loss program.
The label clearly states that you should contact your doctor before using this product if you are taking: a MAO Inhibitor or any dietary supplement, prescription medication, or over the counter drug containing: EPHEDRINE, PSUEDOEPHEDRINE, or PHENYLPROPANOLAMINE
Again, the above statement is self explanatory. Be careful though because most cough/cold medicine contains some form of Psuedoephedrine...especially Comtrex and Tylenol Allergy Sinus.
The label states that EXCEEDING the recommended serving may cause serious health problems such as HEART ATTACK and STROKE
It is also recommended that you contact your immediately if you notice any of the following side effects:
DIZZINESS, RAPID HEARTBEAT, SEVERE HEADACHE, or SHORTNESS of BREATH. Also you should avoid use of ALCOHOL when taking this product.
**MOST IMPORTANTLY** The label states that the maximum recommended dosage of ephedrine for a healthy adult is 100 milligrams in a 24-hour period for no more than 12 weeks.
With that, one learns that this should be a TEMPORARY means of losing weight/fat. Stacker 2 is not meant to be taken as a multi-vitamin..in other words: everyday for your entire life. To preserve your health you must allow your body time to recuperate, thus time off of the product.
If you are not frightened off yet, please allow me to tell you of my experience.
My Experience With Stacker 2 (containing Ephedra)
Certainly, one usually gains some extra fat during the winter months, and when Spring/Summer rolls around, you may look at yourself and question...is this an Immaculate Conception or I didn't think men could have babies? Such was the way with myself. I was disappointed with the amount of weight that I gained during the winter so after months of being discontent with my spare tire, I affirmed that I would loose all this extra weight.
While on vacation, I walked into Rite-Aid and purchased a box that contained around 20 Stacker 2's. I did this so that I could see how my body would react and what if any side effects I would experience before I bought the bottle of 100. Unfortunately, I had a cold at the time and was taking Comtrex, which contains Psuedoephedrine. Thus I exercised restraint and waited while my cold passed.
I weighed in at 245 shortly after returning home before beginning the doses. For the first 5 days I took (1) pill each day after eating dinner. The results were impressive, I had shed 2-3 pounds within that short time. After those five days were up, I took 2 per day, one at breakfast and one at dinner. Soon my box was used up and I bought the 100 count bottle.
Knowing full well that even if this pill was capable of burning fat, reducing my weight to a desirable level would require some discipline and exercise on my part. I limited myself to roughly a 2,000 calorie diet...not freaking out if I was either under or over by a reasonable number. Another thing that had to go was my sugar consumption. Instead of drinking 3 cans/bottles of Mountain Dew, Coke, Pepsi, etc etc..I limit myself to 1 can at dinner and drink water when I crave something to drink. Most importantly, I committed myself to exercise everyday whether it be walking a mile, push mowing the lawn, doing 100 crunches, or any other extra curricular activity that leads to sweat. My results so far have been promising.
Thus far, I have lost 20lbs (220lbs)in roughly 3 - 4 weeks using the above method. I can tell that my pulse and blood pressure is up, but check it regularly whenever I go out and see that it remains within a reasonable level. I might add that I am a 22 year old male and have no health problems.
I have experienced a few side effects, though nothing chronic. Whenever I started taking 2 a day, I could hold my finger to chin and could feel my finger being jittery. That went away soon thereafter, though sometimes I feel somewhat jittery.
One night I became dizzy while using the computer. I went to my bed to lay down for a minute and then it felt as if the bed itself was spinning around and around. The feeling went away after a minute or two..and I'm not sure whether it was the Stackers that caused it (my last dose was 7 hours earlier), the fact that I had only had 3 hours of sleep the night before due to work, or both. That feeling has never occurred again.
Lastly, I had a sore throat a few nights ago and I thought perhaps a cough drop would help it. I had taken a cough drop earlier in the day, but I had not yet taken my dose of Stacker 2. That night, after taking the cough drop I tried to go to sleep but my throat had become either constricted or somewhat paralyzed from the combination of the cough drop and the Stacker 2. I was worried to go to sleep because I was honestly afraid I couldn't breathe. I went to retrieve the packaging for the cough drop to search for its ingredients expecting to find Ephedrine or Psuedoephedrine, but found neither (but let this be a warning). After staying awake for an hour and drinking lots of water, the feeling finally went away and I fell asleep, a victim of my own mistake.
I have been very impressed with Stacker 2's ability to boost my metabolism, curb my appetite, and give me the motivation to move forward in accomplishing my goal. This product is not for everyone, as different people react differently to ephedra. If you are interested in losing fat it is worth looking at Stacker 2. Be wary and listen to your body though, for you certainly don't want to become a walking heart palpitation.
