| Freak369's Full Review: Nve Stacker 2 Stackerdrene |
Over the past ten years sport supplements have come a long way; anything and everything from ephedrine, creatine and straight caffeine have been pushed on the public as a way to burn fat, lose weight, sculpt muscle and provide quick energy. It wasnt until the past two years that sport supplements have come under fire from the government for being more harmful than helpful. To that I stick my tongue out and fire off a nice wet round of raspberries. Look at it this way, if the Chinese have been using guarana, yohimbe and other assorted herbs for thousands of years dont you think that if there were some severe side effects from using it in moderation that it would have been painfully evident by now? But that doesnt seem to be the American way; no, we want it done quicker, faster, cheaper and with the least amount of effort. Hey, chunky thighs, that fat didnt just show up one night when you were sleeping after having blissfully passed out on the couch from a Ben & Jerrys induced sugar coma
so dont expect anything short of massive plastic surgery to rid your body of stored fat without exercising, proper diet and a lot of hard work. That, in itself, seems to be one of the biggest misconceptions about weight loss / energy products these days that you can get dramatic and highly visible results just by sucking down a capsule, pill or spreading on some miracle lotion. If that were true
dont you think everyone would be a side two and non-visible if they stood sideways?
Stacker 2 Stackerdrene
In the past Ive used almost all of the Stacker products, some with great results and others with less than impressive end results. When I saw Stackerdrene there was no question about it, I had to try it out and see if finally there was something within the NVE Pharmaceuticals family that could take the place of my beloved Stacker 2 and Stacker 3 that are no longer available for sale in California due to ephedra or ephedrine being in the formulation. One of the biggest things to know about this before you try it is that it isnt marketed as a weight loss product but rather for energy and increased or enhanced concentration. This isnt one of the fabled smart drugs or something that will rid you of ADD so please take the term enhanced concentration with a grain of salt. So if ephedrine and ephedra properties have been removed from the formula, what provides the kick in the pants for Stackerdrene? Caffeine, guarana seeds, green tea and assorted vitamins and minerals. Thats the sort version, read on for the long winded, verbose listing.
So, what exactly is Stackerdrene? Unlike most of the other Stacker products, this one is sold for energy, not weight loss. Thats not to say that you wont lose weight taking it but in all honesty, most of it will be water weight that you lose from the caffeine making your body work a little overtime. But and this is a big but if it is taken on a regular basis in conjunction with working out, lifting weights or cardiovascular activities, you will lose weight. The main idea behind this product is to provide energy to the body; how much energy varies from person to person. If you are a little tired but still want to hit the gym, finish up your days work or need to keep going for a few more hours, this product will help you attain your goal. The infusion of vitamins B6 and B12 along with zinc may provide you with some of the recommended daily allowances but they, in my opinion, are useless properties for providing energy or improving mental awareness. The three main hitters of Stackerdrene are green tea extract, grape seed extract and cactus extract but at the levels in this formulation are minimally effect. The caffeine content is 150 milligrams per serving [one capsule] is enough to give you a mild burst of energy if you are feeling run down but to be brutally honest, the same amount of caffeine can be had from chugging a few cups of strong coffee. When you look at the listings of caffeine per eight ounce cup of coffee youll find a lot of variances but most round out to about 60 80 milligrams per cup. Of course the advantage of taking Stackerdrene over drinking coffee is there is no bloating or need to run to the bathroom forty five minutes later.
Directions & Precautions
Per the manufacturers suggestion, one capsule one half to one hour before a meal is the best application for energy and enhanced concentration. Remember, this isnt being touted as a weight loss product so they arent going to tell you that if you take it on an empty stomach before a workout that you will get better results no they are telling you that if you take it before a meal you will feel better when you are sucking down those cheeseburgers and super sized fry. Diet plays an important role in weight loss and even though this isnt sold directly for weight loss, why else would you take it? Personally, I take one in the morning before I run or do cardio, an empty stomach works best since it gets into your system faster and doesnt have to compete with food to get into the bloodstream. The downside to this is if you are sensitive to caffeine then this product as a whole might not be right for you. Downing this with a cup or two of coffee will put you in to overdrive for an hour or so and in some cases, the feeling mimics a mild anxiety attack heightened senses but at the same time the inability to follow though with thought processing tasks, sweating, jitters and the possibility of stomach cramps.
Unless you are completely void of functioning brain cells, taking this in the evening is not recommended. Now, if you are taking this for an extended period of time your body will build up a tolerance to it so the effects of the caffeine and various other components wont seem as dramatic after a few weeks of use but if you cycle it properly, you shouldnt develop any type of resistance to it. So far I havent had to take a break from using this but I know that if I take this on a daily basic either once or twice a day eventually my body will build up a tolerance to it. That is why cycling a product is important, if you dont you are doing nothing but wasting your money, getting poor results and wasting your time in the gym.
Price
This comes in two sizes [that Ive seen so far that is], the twenty count bottle and the sixty count bottle. The twenty count is usually more popular at places like GNC or Nutri-Sport since it has a lower price and allows people to try it out before investing in a larger bottle. The average price of the twenty count can run anywhere from $9.99 to $14.99 something that really might turn some people off. The sixty count can be found at larger chain sport nutrition stores or online for about $30.00. The most Ive ever seen it advertised for is $39.99 but that was a company this is notorious for selling their supplies at a grossly inflated price. You have the ability to shop around to get he best deal online but remember to factor in the shipping and handling fees as well as local sales tax that may be charged. Is it worth the price? So far its been a good product to cycle in to my supplement routine nothing that is going to knock the world off its axis but at the same time, you surely arent going to fall asleep after taking one of these.
The Bottom Line
NVE is really trying hard to come up with something to replace the Stacker formulations that contain ephedrine so they have to get points for that. If you used Stacker 2 or Stacker 3 in the past and liked the results then by all means, give this product a chance but be forewarned, you wont get the same intensity from it. I really suggest that you purchase the smaller twenty count bottle to start with so you can try it out to see if you like it. Nabbing a few from a friend might be nice to get an initial feel of them but if you want to try them out for a week, drop a tenner on a small bottle and give it an honest chance. Do a little research on this product before you use it and make yourself aware of the potential side effects you may encounter if you decide to purchase and use Stackerdrene. If you are sensitive to caffeine then this wouldnt be a great pick for you and since it is in a capsule form, theres no way to split it in to a smaller dosage without making a mess. So far this has been a good product for me to use when I need a boost before a workout but it is a far cry from Stacker 2 or Stacker 3. Chances are I will purchase another bottle when I run out of this one but it wont get nearly the amount of use as its most powerful big brothers.
As always, thanks for the visit!
