New York Color (NYC) is a drugstore brand that you hear very little about. It is one of the lower end priced brands with limited selections in the entire lineup. However, the items that I have tried have all stood up to some of the bigger name brands like Maybelline. I recently picked up NYC Liquid Lip Shine in Dusty Rose and I love the color and shine! It's a winner!
Dusty Rose NYC Liquid Lip Shine
NYC Liquid Lip Shine comes in a .27 fl. oz. tube. The tube has a black top and the body of the tube is clear which allows you to view the actual shade of the lip gloss. The application wand contains a contoured sponge tip applicator for precise application.
NYC Liquid Lip Shine contains sweet almond oil and Vitamin E to condition and soften your lips. It is available in the following shades:
Dusty Rose
Pink Sand
Pearl Glow
Cherrywood
Clear & Shiny
Cappuccino
Au Natural
Sun Gold Pink
Iced Orchid
Glitter Gloss
Pink Kiss
Black Cherry Frost

My Thoughts On NYC Liquid Lip Shine
I have been very pleased with my Dusty Rose shade of NYC Liquid Lip Shine. It is a true rose color that is frosted and provides a great shine. This lip gloss wears fairly well for such a low price. It will last you for 3-4 hours as long as you don't drink anything. However, drinking from a glass gets pretty messy and expect to find most of your gloss left behind on the glass.
This lip gloss is easy to apply. The sponge tipped applicator is slanted on one side which allow you more control when applying the lip gloss. It is not sticky going on, dries quickly and provides adequate moisture for your lips.
For $1.99 you can't ask for any more performance from this lip gloss. I find it works as well as other brands that you pay $4.99-7.99 for. I usually purchase this at Rite Aid. They frequently have this brand on weekly specials at 30-50% off. Now that is a good deal!
I also recommend this to young teen girls. This is a great way to introduce them to makeup without breaking your wallet.
My only complaint about this line of cosmetics is the small selection of shades. This goes for the entire line, not only lip gloss. This is minor but for a cheap lip gloss that performs this well, it would be nice to have more shades available.
Recommendation
NYC Liquid Lip Shine is a great little lip gloss to wear everyday or any casual outings. With Christmas right around the corner, these would make great stocking stuffers for any teens on your gift list. I give NYC Liquid Lip Shine 4 Stars. It doesn't make any outlandish claims and is more than worth the $2.00 pricetag!
