Pros:Versatile, brightens up eye makeup, a little goes a long way
Cons:Must be used with Urban Decay Primer Potion underneath it; otherwise, it creases big-time.
The Bottom Line: NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in the shade "Milk" is popular for a good reason.
After seeing the NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in the shade Milk featured on just about every makeup tutorial on Youtube, I simply had to check it out for myself. For years, I have been obsessed with eye makeup, and I love the process of trial-and-error to figure out what cosmetics really work and which ones to completely pass on.

This eye pencil is not only relatively inexpensive compared to most high-end makeup brands, it's quite versatile and serves its purpose exceptionally well. I purchased it for $4.99 at ULTA Beauty. Many people -- myself included -- like to use it as a "base" to brighten up eyeshadows, though it can also be used on its own with a bit of blending.
Milk is a pure white shade. Though it may sound weird, it's really tough to find eye pencils or eyeshadows THIS white. Many are "off-white" or "creamy white with a tan or gold hint", but I can promise you that this is as white as white gets. One huge benefit of this eye pencil is that it is not chalky. It isn't shimmery or sparkly; it's entirely matte. I love sparkles and glitter, but Milk is one of the nicest matte products I own. You also can get quite a lot of bang for your buck, because a little bit goes a long way, to say the very least. The product weighs in at 0.18 oz. and don't fret about sharpening it -- it will be a while before that will even be necessary, and when the need strikes, it sharpens well and there isn't a terrible loss of product in the process.
Application of this product might take a few tries to perfect. Applying too much of it can cause a mess, because then blending it outward creates a tugging sensation in the eyelids. A thin layer is ideal. I like to smooth Urban Decay Primer Potion on the eye to "hold" everything in place, THEN I apply NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in Milk, THEN apply either some bright shadows (Urban Decay's 'Graffiti' really pops with Milk applied underneath, as do the UD shades 'Ransom' and 'Peace') or some charcoal, gritty black colors if I'm doing a smoky eye. Using this product without applying some kind of really good primer underneath may result in some creasing, which is just no good. I cannot stress enough how much of a lifesaver Urban Decay Primer Potion is. As nice of a product as Milk is, it cannot function as a base or primer all by itself.
In general, NYX Cosmetics have not impressed me. I have purchased a few other Jumbo Eye Pencils ("Pacific Blue" and "Yogurt", for example), and they looked quite tacky and cheap in addition to creasing and being difficult to apply. I have purchased one of their powder eyeshadows and was thoroughly unimpressed. Milk is a special product, however. It can brighten up eyeshadows, adding a bold new twist while opening up the eyes. I do recommend it to any lover of eye makeup.
