Pros: Laxative Effects, taste just like the original
Cons: Not getting as much for your money as you are the original.
I started purchasing Nabisco Sugar Free Oreo cookies when I found out I was a type 2 diabetic. Since losing close to 100 pounds now, I am no longer considered diabetic. I still purchase Sugar Free Oreos from time to time. You will find out further down in my review why.
Who can resist Oreo cookies? Thank goodness Nabisco decided to put out a little flavor for those who can not enjoy a regular Oreo cookie. They now come in Sugar-Free and have for a while now. What your getting is a 6.75 oz box of chocolate sandwich cookies for around $3.00 a box, depending on where you shop. I have been able to find these cookies at Walgreens. Sometimes they are hard to find in your grocery store. I normally find them at Walgreens where other sugar-free cookies and desserts are sold, normally in the back of the pharmacy section.
Your getting about 16 cookies for $3.00. For those who have never had an Oreo, they are two thin almost semi-sweet tasting cookies, that have a sweet creamy white filling in the middle. The cookies are normally very crunchy and the cream is smooth and really makes this cookie what it is.
The sugar-free version taste and look EXACTLY like the original. I can't tell the difference really. The chocolate cookies are still just as crisp and crunchy and fresh tasting. The cream is soooooo sweet, creamy and irresistable. What a diabetics delight!?!
Here is the one thing about these cookies that will either make or break your decision to purchase them. The serving size says 2 cookies. Yeah right! If you are around Oreo cookies are you really only going to eat two? Really? I have had gastric bypass, my stomach is the size of an egg, and even I could eat more than 2 cookies. I just don't think the serving size is realistic.
You want to eat more than two of these cookies? Okay... You may be up on the toilet for the next two or three days then. I know not everyone has the same system, but for me, even if I just eat one or two more than the serving suggests, thats it...
Now, since having the gastric bypass, my plumbing seems to be routed all differently. I have a horrible time being able to go to the bathroom now. I am lucky to go every three days. I have tried everything that I am able to try and it still be safe with my new plumbing. You have to really watch what types of meds you consume after having such a serious surgery.
Well, I explained to my doctor that I have the perfect solution for my problem... Sugar-Free Oreos! Yes, they keep me regular now. I purchase them, and keep them on hand for these times when I need them. Not only am I staying regular now, but I can enjoy eating what I love best! Sweets and cookies. I can only eat 2 or 3 now, and get the effect needed. They used to bother me before when I ate 3 or 4. I didn't have the problems then like I do now.
You may consider this to be a con, but for me? I am thankful to call it a pro. I will continue to purchase this product, as long as it works.
The only issue I really have with this product, is that just because it is sugar free, it seems your getting so much less for your money. I wish they would give you the same amount of cookies in the Original, as they do the sugar-free.
