Pros: Easy to clean up and if you read the directions and follow them, works great!
Cons: None that I can think of.
The Bottom Line: Give it a try! If you can read instructions, and you are prepared that pulling hair out of your body will result in some pain, then it will work!
spiphy's Full Review: Nads No Heat Hair Removal Gel
I am a 30 y/o female and had not waxed any part of my body before purchasing this item. I saw it at Super Target and thought since it was on sale for $16.00 I would give it a try. I was a little nervous at first after reading the hundreds of horrible epinions on the product, but I am happy to say I did not have a bad experience whatsoever! In reference to the bad reviews, I can only conclude that:
1). The product has improved since its first creation, or
2). The people who gave this a bad review thought that pulling the hair out of your body would magically not hurt, simply because it is advertised as natural.
Of course pulling hair out of your body does hurt, and by no means is this painless, but after researching "waxing" techniques on the web for hours, I tried several good waxing tips before my NADS experience:
1). Exfoliate the area to be waxed (I used a Loofah) no more than 24 hours or no less than 8 hours before waxing.
2). Take Tylenol 30 minutes before waxing.
3). Have two glasses of wine before waxing. (Okay, I made this one up, but I think it helps!)
4). Go into it with the attitude that it "won't hurt" and it will be a lot less painful!
I followed the instructions to a T -- I re-read them twice before beginning to make sure I got the technique down. There are several IMPORTANT tips that the instructions tell you otherwise it says it WILL NOT REMOVE HAIR: Make sure your hair is 1/5 to 1/8" long, pull the skin taught when pulling off the strip (very important) and apply the gel EVENLY. There are several other important tips in the instruction booklet so make sure to read them before beginning.
I read several reports of those who said it was messy and got all over the place. It is sticky, and I think it looks like a melted apple sucker, but I did not have a problem keeping the stickiness in the jar and then only on the areas that needed waxed. I did prepare my waxing area well, though and put an old blanket down, and laid out all the supplies I needed before beginning just in case it got a little out of hand. I did take the instruction's advice and since it was a little too sticky, I warmed it in the microwave for 15 seconds and it was much easier to work with. This worked great and I did not have to re-heat again. I read one review which said not to put too much on or it does not work, so I started by not putting enough on the stick, which then I got pain, and it did not remove much hair. After reading the directions again, the key is to apply the gel EVENLY. So, I was able to figure out the right amount and then spread it evenly.
The only thing I did not follow in the instruction booklet, is that it suggests if you have never waxed yourself before, to try a less sensitive area such as your legs before trying a bikini wax. I went straight for the bikini wax and I did it! I am now excited to try my pits and legs - especially since I've endured the most sensitive area first! :)
This was a great first waxing experience and I love that I could wipe the gel off easily as I was moving along, so that I could make sure to get it in the right spot. Now to convince hubby to help me with the hard to reach places!!! That may take a few more glasses of wine!
