ldusold's Full Review: Nads No Heat Hair Removal Gel
It's hard to believe that every review I've read is a negative one!!! I guess I'll be the first to actually LIKE nads~
Like many women, I'm sure, I have an unbalance hormone system, and I do get body hair. For years, I have shaved it, and at some point or another I have used other hair removal systems. None that I was ever satisfied with. So the thing I have done is shave shave and shave. In order to keep it under control, I would have to shave 3 times a week. I'm talking about stomach hair. Chin hair, I have to use the tweezers and pull those out one by one, of course I would never ever shave those.
But when I sat and thought about how often I was in front of a magnified mirror plucking hair, or spending time shaving in the shower, never getting that smooth feeling anyway, I decided I would try NADS.
I went to the mall to one of those stores where they sell all those "As Seen on TV" products, and looked to see if it was there. Sure enough, it was. I paid $24.99 for it, and I got a 12 oz jar of gel, the prep soap, the cloths, the applicators, lotion and the instruction booklet.
I brought it home, read the instructions, and proceeded to try this new product out. The first time I applied it, and tried to rip that cloth up, I saw that this was bogus, it wasn't going to work. Very discouraged, I ranted and raged throughout the house. I was hot, I was sweating because of being nervous of the pain, and I know for a fact that I didn't pull quite as quickly as I needed to.
I then DEMANDED that my fiancé come and help me. I was going to start over, because I am very determined!!! So, I stood right in front of the air conditioner, making sure that my body temperature wouldn't be to hot. I really wanted this stuff to work. I smeared that stuff on again, I applied the cloth, and the key was to rip it up within 30 seconds of applying the cloth strip. So here I am now, standing in front of the air conditioner, applying this stuff, and then saying... "COME ON RIP IT OFF" and RRRRIIIPPPPPP off it came, with almost every hair that was in that area... You can see the hair on the cloth.
Wow, I was impressed... I said, "Lets do it again" and I applied MORE gel to another area... I had soon found out that applying NEW gel to every area was NOT necessary. It actually worked much better to use the same cloth strip, that had the gel and hairs stuck on it. You have to keep that gel cool... DO NOT LET IT GET WARM. If it's warm, it's just a sticky mess....
So by applying the gel ONCE, ripping off the cloth strip, and then reapplying the strip to the next section of hair, you can achieve what you want to achieve.
The keys to using this stuff, is....
1. ~Keep your body temperature down, stand in front of a fan, or air conditioner or whatever you need to, in order not to get hot.
2. ~Use the same cloth and gel that is on that cloth for several uses. With experience you will soon be able to decide when you will need a new application of gel, and new cloth.
3. ~Hold your skin tight it's very important that you do, stretch it, hold it or whatever you have to do, and believe me the hair comes out easier, and there is a lot less pain when you do.
4. ~Have someone else rip the cloth for you, or you will not be able to hold your skin tight, and/or you will hesitate because of worrying about pain... Get it applied, and get that cloth ripped off all within 30 seconds, or else your body temperature has heated up the gel to much and your results will not be so good.
5. ~The instructions say apply in the direction the hair grows, and then pull the opposite direction that the hair grows. Yes that's true in some cases. ALWAYS apply in the direction the hair grows, but when you have hairs that grow in several different directions.... pull in several different directions. I never only pull in the opposite direction. I sometimes have it pulled in the same direction that the hair grows. You really have to test and see what way your hair will come out the easiest.
This whole process, of "waxing" my stomach may take only about 15 minutes, and there is literally only about 3 - 4 hairs that I need to get with a tweezer after that.
I DO get red dots, but all I do when I am done is WASH the area, and dry it... and go on about my day. I do not apply the lotion, because that lotion only aggravates the dots, it makes them burn, and it makes those dots begin to look like pimples. So I rather leave it. Then I don't have "dot burn" and they usually fade away within 2 - 3 days.
In a couple of weeks I noticed the hair coming back, but something that I do like, is that each time the hair comes back, it feels finer, and there seems to be less growth... all people could be different, but I honestly like this Nads system.
I have a high tolerance for pain, and maybe that's why that RIP doesn't hurt me as badly as it would you, I'm not sure, but the quicker you rip that strip, the less pain you will be in..... one yell, AHHHHHHHH, and then go on immediately go again. Stick it out, you wont be disappointed. I'm NOT!!!
