krzysztof's Full Review: Nads No Heat Hair Removal Gel
I do admit that I get sucked in by those infomercials on TV, yet I generally never buy anything off of the TV. However, when this product became available at a local shop, I couldn't resist trying it.
I do have some experience with waxing. I used to go to a local esthetician every three or four weeks to get my legs done, but eventually gave up because it caused a great deal of ingrown hairs, which are nasty to remove.
On the infomercial, they did advertise that this product is painless and discourages ingrown hairs. I actually didn't really believe this, but as I said, I couldn't resist.
Well, when I tried this product on my arms at home, I did find it easier to use than regular wax. It is water soluble, so it is much easier to clean; I didn't have to scrub wax off of the counter with baby oil. Also, it is definitely possible to use the same waxed strip a few times (just rinse when it gets completely clogged with hair), as they say in the infomercial, and the lack of heating is convenient.
However, the final results are almost identical to regular wax. I did end up with ingrown hairs, one of which left a scar, and this product is *not* painless. Also the 'reusable strips' that come with the product started to fray immediately after I rinsed them in the sink! I don't think that they will last long.
In addition, when I tried this product on my upper lip, though it did taste ok (hehe), it didn't really work as well as regular wax, removing only some of the hairs. I found that this product only worked well on coarser hair, not very fine sparse hair.
BOTTOM LINE: If you like home wax kits for your legs and arms, then Nads is a good product. As I said, it is easier to clean and use than regular wax. If you don't like wax, then you won't like this product! It is still messy, causes ingrown hairs, and is not painless.
I thought this product was ok. I will use it for the few times I'm willing to tolerate ingrown hairs and wax my legs. However, it is expensive, and it is not the hair removing miracle that they state in the infomercial. Also if you have sensitive skin and don't like waxing, DON'T BUY THIS PRODUCT!
