Pros: Easy to digest, not chalky, taste like it is not a healthy product
Cons: Very expensive, glass bottles not plastic
The Bottom Line: I highly recommend this product if you are a Bariatric weight loss patient, or looking to lower carbs, and get your proteins in quickly.

| LILvoyce's Full Review: Natures Best Isopure Liquid Protein Beverage |
Hi folks.
Just a Bit about my background, and what I was searching for in a protein, shake, or beverage like this one...
I have undergone some serious transformations lately. One being throwing my towel down, and agreeing to having the Gastric Bypass surgery. I am actually only one week out, and now am trying to fill my tiny little pouch with between 50 and 70 grams of protein a day. This is so difficult when I am having to be on a soft liquid diet. My options are really limited. I had started out trying the high protein/low carb protein shake mixes. I have since found out that they fill me up to fast, and are much to heavier on my stomach at the moment. For the most part, I find the protein shakes to be very unflavorful, and a real chore to get down. I have not been able to get my required proteins down without placing them in tiny little cups, and having to force them down my feeding tube. Yeah, I get a feeding tube for a month. I need to get my stuff in gear, and figure out what I can drink, for the day that little life line comes out, I won't be able to have that luxury any longer. I have been miserable with premixed, or powder shakes.
Isopure Liquid Protein Beverage
My goodness, I can't say enough about this product. It has been God sent to me. There are more flavors out there than the two that are mentioned here. I am not sure how many flavors there are exactly but I only drink a few that are carried by my GNC store. My favorite flavor is Apple Melon, pineapple orange banana, and the Alpine punch.
Consistency, Texture, Taste
This stuff does not taste like a protein shake, at all. It is more of a Gatorade type of taste. For me it is very easy to consume. I find it very light and easy going down my pouch. I don't experience any burning, or any unusual fullness that I do sometimes with the others. It contains Aspartame, so that means it is sugar free.
You shouldn't have to worry about dumping with this product if you are a weight loss surgery patient. I have not had any bad reactions. Be sure to check with your doctor, but I was able to use them during my clear liquid diet, before moving on to the full liquid. This product is see through, and was approved by my surgeon to be safe for consumption during those first critical days after surgery.
Packaging
Each bottle comes in a 20 oz form. They are tall glass bottles. I wish to see them in plastic too. The glass bottles are not as convenient. I am glad that GNC has them stocked in the cooler for me when I get there..lol. These are my favorite items.
What are you getting for your$3.99 a bottle?! Geeze, a bit pricey unless you can get em on sale!
Your getting 40 proteins out of each bottle. That is a lot really! This beverage is just loaded with proteins, NO CARBS, or SUGAR. You can't go wrong. There are 55mg of Calcium, 80mg of sodium, and 45 mg of potassium. They may seem a bit pricey to some, but when you look at if overall, I am actually saving money.
With the protein powders I buy to make the shakes. I can't get them down, and end up wasting a ton of this mixture. This is especially true when the taste is so bad, I have to mix it with ice in the blender and this does nothing but make me more fuller, and less likely to get the product down. At 60 bucks a can, that adds up too. I treat my Isopure protein beverages like they are gold. Not a precious drop is wasted. I can get my proteins in so easily now. I pay full or sale price for them. They are pre made, cold, and waiting for me.
The only think I am not happy about is the price, the glass container, and the fact that they have not come out with a powder yet.(If they have I am not aware.)
This product has been a life saver to me, thanks! It has been the only joy in my life for the past few weeks pre- and post-op!!
Not a weightloss surgery patient? Thats ok.. Still counting carbs, and protiens?
This is an excellent product for you too. It is a change from all those powders and premixed shakes. They get old quick.
