Pros: Does the body good from heart to erythrocyte !
Okay truly the heart is the last organ this particular drug in itself helps, but Coenzyme Q-10 or Co Q-10 as it is called by Spring Valley labs manufacturing out of US Nutrition, Inc has antioxidants that raise most health conditions back to better than average, when taken accordingly. Studies show that this enzyme functions as a food to energy converter and if our diet lacks in it, so do we at the very smallest of chemical events taking place in the body.
This particular enzyme is produced in the body efficiently; however as we age it declines rapidly. The required dose becomes less and less unless we supplement our meals with one of these soft gels of this twin-pack of 60 soft gels per bottle. This enzyme is responsible for optimal physical, psychological and emotional health at the cellular level and is highly absorbable when taken with food as it disperses digestively creating systemic protection from free radicals.
It is oil soluble and found mainly in the mitochondria. I loved this part of my early high school biology class when now I can understand foods and whats in them, do to my basic cellular structure. This substance is vitamin-like and has a component similar to an electron transport train. It attaches itself to the contents within the mitochondria and then dances its way around the ectoplasmic reticulae causing a swoosh of cellular growth and redistribution of the good stuff our bodies thrive on. To me this is fascinating because it is so small and under that 'microscopic thinking', we are looking at nutritional value at its smallest increment, in a soft gel !
This soft gel is oblong in shape, ecru-white in color, tasteless, odorless well not completely there is a malt smell to it when you first open the bottle. The gels are easy to swallow and soft in between your fingers when squished. I suppose they dissolve okay when left in a tea, although I have never tried it and I am not sure how much altering of the tea tatse it would affect, so I just swallow them with a glass of milk or water, if you feign the former.
Both bottles can last four people, adults over 18, about two months because even though the bottle suggests one soft gel per day with a meal, you can skip a day or two and it won’t harm you or mess up trying to maintain cellular longevity. It is a supplement and of course ageing will let you know when you work better with more or less in your system. The antioxidant property is what I like and the easy open bottle. A screw-off plastic lid on a plastic bottle that is probably not biodegradable should be just refilled instead of bought every time you run out, but who do you call ?
Lo and behold, there is a number on the back panel of each bottle that you can reach a live representative for the company and the product. 1-866-607-0342 for questions or comments. Besides a number, you also have the ingredients listed as follows: Vitamin E (as d-Alpha Tocopherol) 5IU (InternationalUnits) or 17%--and Q-Sorb ™ Coenzyme Q-10 = 100 mgs. The other lesser important ingredients are Rice Bran Oil, Gelatin, Glycerin, Soy Lecithin (be careful with this one because if you are on HRT (hormone replacement therapies--soy might interact inappropriately, so check with your doctor), Titanium Dioxide Color and Annato Color.
For anyone with any kind of allergies what is NOT in here is also listed: NO Gluten, Yeast, Wheat, Milk or Milk derivatives, Lactose, Sugar, Preservatives, Artificial flavor, Sodium (a misrepresentation because there is less than .05 g per serving). The suggested use of this product is one per day with food and a warning for pregnant women to check with their health care provider first before taking anything, even supplements. Of course keep this and all medications even vitamins out of reach of children and store this one in a cool place but not requiring refrigeration (although it won’t destroy the gel if it is cold).
I encourage you to please use by the expiration date as with any and all medications, including vitamins and supplements, throwing it away if you are not sure. Even though the statements regarding cellular function improvement and overall supplemented better health is not backed by the Food and Drug Administration, do you really not want to have this ? I mean something your body begins to deplete as age sets in, around the house conveniently protected in a gelatin based soft gel, housed neatly in a green bottle ?
So, what are you waiting for ? Go to the grocery store, health aisle and vitamins, pay about $6.oo a bottle OR get this handy twin-pack for about $9.oo and feel better about your overall health and your buying decision !
