Pros: Good for you ! Small, easy to swallow. Cheap !
Cons: a little bit of sodium and gelatin
**This particular review is only the SPRING VALLEY manufactured by US Nutrition, Inc brand not anything to do with Nature’s Bounty as the bottle indicates this nowhere.
Spring Valley products have always evoked exuberant excellent customer satisfaction from me especially when I can overload on a foodstuff that is just plain good for me. This I found to be true of the Spring Valley Odorless Garlic 1000mg Softgels I take for my Hearthealth and taste buds. I enjoy raw garlic as often as I can but it makes for very unacceptable speech-rendering;therefore need something much less obscene. Spring Valley offers a softgel which is a microencapsulated mushy outer gel that holds precious oils of yum inside each little oblong oval gel cap.
As herbal supplements go one should be careful in taking too much a good thing and inform their primary care physician of any supplements or additives they may be taking so if anything unusual occurs, both patient and doctor are in the loop. I of course do not follow my advice as I don’t have a primary care physician anymore, I heal myself through various modalities.
A burst ovarian cyst three years back made me very health conscious, an avid label reader, an activist against the food industry for putting unnecessary toxins hazardous to our health etc etc etc. I work my mission through Epinions and I am grateful for those who are beginning to follow my path.
Anyway, Spring Valley Odorless Garlic soft gels is a very positive herbal supplement our body can use as much of or as little of as we give it. Remember though anything you don’t use, does get urinated out as unnecessary water smelling potently of fresh ground garlic !
As the number #1 brand in vitamins, this herbal supplement is listed as promoting heart health. 10 milligrams of Allium sativum (a bulb of garlic in latin) is actually 100:1 Extract equivalent to 1000mgs of Fresh Garlic Bulb--this is the Active Ingredient.
In the inactive ingredients one finds nothing synthetic. Just simple soybean oil and gelatin and glycerin and silica. Not too happy about the last one which is sand because heck I don’t need to get back to earth that quickly . . . Anyway, this is pure garlic in its rarest form but encapsulated. If you choose no encapsulation, the odor of as many pills as I consume would render you unconscious.
The recommended dosage is 1 softgel four times a day. I take about four when I get up and two before bedtime, not too mention raw cloves if I am working from the home office all day, all day if I can. I put garlic in everything from pancakes to pasta to rice to vegetables to even chicken if I have to eat meat every now and then. I am addicted to it. It does keep your blood thin, body energized and slim, it is known to help coagulate the blood better and properly, cloves weekly tend to cleanse both the liver and kidneys easier and I read this root can help neutralize free radicals.
There is a warning to pregnant and nursing mothers about taking any kind of medication or supplements without consulting your doctor; however, that is with a medication. If this will pass through the membrane and get into the amniotic fluid, don‘t you think it would strengthen the babies immunity? Not a guessing game I understand, but ponder the thought.
In the meantime, take note that this product does NOT CONTAIN Gluten, yeast, wheat, milk or milk derivatives, lactose, sugar, preservatives, artificial flavors or color, or chemical solvents. Of course there is a tad bit of sodium roughly less than 5mg per serving or one softgel but if its soluble in water, meaning dissolves in water, it won’t be concentrated salt but rather diluted garlic vampyre keep-away !
This is sold as a Twin-Pack value deal in most stores, although you can purchase bottles individually. There are 100 soft gels per bottle so for the price of about $2,85 you get 200 soft gels to last me about 33 days, yes I take a lot of them and for good reason.
I have to admit taking Spring Valley Odorless Garlic sofgels everyday does keep the vampyre away (aw rats some of them are so sexy) while it also makes me feel tens times better. I notice so when I can last a dancing, high step kicking and all around motivational workout longer than I should at my age (a glorious 43 young), it means my cardiovascular health is still pretty darn good.
The bottle has a label that states ‘garlic promotes heart and cardiovascular health and helps maintain cholesterol levels that are already within the normal range. *Odorless garlic contains the natural goodness of garlic in a convenient-to-use softgel.’ It also states to keep in a dry place so no extra moisture ruins it, or melts it in extreme heated conditions. Not to mention that this product nor the "statements on this product label have been properly evaluated by the Food and Drug Administration nor should it be used to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease."

Well I say that last part is a load of well you know its not right to steer the American public into believing that homeopathic intervention is not safe. So I say, eat garlic, lots of it because what you don’t need you p** out into your plumbing and what you do need, may save your life, all of it !
