| jdhauer's Full Review: Natures Miracle Natures Miracle Stain and Odor Rem... |
My husband, my miniature schnauzer and I moved into a spanking brand new house approximately 6 months ago. While we thought our 3 year old dog was housebroken, we discovered that he had a problem with marking his territory in the new house.
Within days, we discovered urine stains in the living room, dining room, music room and worst of all, the guest bedroom. There were so many stains in the guest room that I thought the carpet would have to be completely replaced.
By the way, yes, he is neutered and we do crate him when he is left unattended.
I tackled the spots in a few places with carpet cleaners ranging from Resolve to Woolite. Finally, I broke down and bought Nature's Miracle Stain & Odor Remover at our local Petsmart.
I wasn't sure how much I would need and it seemed expensive so I bought two pint sized squirt bottles. I figured I had nothing to lose since it states right on the bottle: "GUARANTEED to eliminate all stains & odors from pet accidents permanently even urine odors other products fail to remove OR YOUR MONEY BACK!"
The directions on the bottle state that you need to saturate the stains completely, applying enough of the product to reach penetration in the carpet pad and floor. This takes a lot of product and I quickly ran out. I decided to wait and see how it worked before rushing out to purchase more.
The bottle also states that because of circulation, it may take up to two weeks for your carpet to dry completely. That was accurate in our case. As the product dried, the enzymes in it were eating away at the urine causing the most horrific stench. It was worse than the urine itself! Luckily, we were able to just shut the door on the guest bedroom and leave it alone.
At the end of two weeks, the room still smelled horrible but that was because of the untreated stains. The ones we had treated didn't smell at all although we could still see them. I promptly went to the store and purchased the large gallon size of Nature's Miracle Stain & Odor Remover.
I decided to bring in the bigger ammunition at this point and try using the Nature's Miracle Stain & Odor Remover in a steam cleaner. I own a Bissell Big Green machine but it's missing a necessary part. Since I knew the Bissell probably would have worked, I went to the store and purchased a Bissell Spot Lifter on "open box special" for under $30. The directions on the Spot Lifter say to only use their special formula, diluted with warm water. I completely ignored this and poured in the Nature's Miracle Stain & Odor Remover at full strength.
While I still have to finish the guest bedroom (and that will take a while in 5 minute increments since that's all the Spot Lifter is good for per day), the stains in the other rooms of the house have completely vanished. COMPLETELY! No odors and no traces of urine whatsoever.
Thankfully for us, our schnauzer has settled down and no longer marks in the house. He has a large fenced backyard where he can run, play and relieve himself. We are planning to get another dog in the next year or so at which point, I hope not to need the Nature's Miracle Stain & Odor Remover again. However, it's great to know that it's there if and when we need it.
