| Freak369's Full Review: Neopets: Aisha Stickers W/ Rare Item Code |
When it comes to Neopet related items, there is never a shortage of things that you can spend your money on. Whether it is a stuff animal or t-shirt, bedding or hand held games. The Neopet franchise has grown by leaps and bounds over the past few years. One thing that I love about that overgrowth is that things tend to fall out of favor rather quickly; in regards to Neopets, the school supplies weren't all that big of a hit because of the price and the slightly stereotypical view that it is a 'kids website'. Most of the school supplies were targeted at girls between the ages of eight and thirteen as those are the average ages of female players at the website. One thing that the people crunching the numbers failed to realize is this, there are a lot of adults that play at the site and the adults are [usually] the ones that are forking out the cash for items like this.
Neopet Aisha Sticker Set
There are eight stickers per sheet and you get two sheets per package. These had a suggested selling price of $2.99 when they were fresh on the market but I got them for .75 cents at K-Mart. I know, home of the 'blue light special' but these were buried under stacks of other Neopet merchandise so I did have to do some work to find them. I also managed to get some Grundo, Shoyru, Scorchio and Uni sticker sets that are were all very cool collectibles. Sure, I could have turned around and sold them at an auction site but I'm way too into Neopets to do that. The stickers themselves are of high quality but I have to be honest, there is no way that I would ever pay $2.99 for them so thankfully they were on clearance because it would have sucked to have left the store without them.
What are some of the stickers that you get? Well, they are all basic, non-painted [meaning no mutated, baby, starry or other paint brush varieties] Aisha characters in various colors along with a very cute Aisha logo. One of my favorite stickers is the Aisha curled up on a bed, it looks a little like a PetPet bed from the website but I would imagine that it would be a little too small for a full grown Aisha. Another cute one is the Aisha with a heart; the perfect way to top off your Neopet Valentine's Day card! The cat-like creatures are in their usual cute poses and they are all daed ringers for the various colored Aishas that you may come across at the site. The stickers are not hard to remove from the paper backing and once applied to something they do not peel off so make sure that what ever you are sticking them it, it is something that is your own property and that you have permission to decorate it as you choose. Simply put, don't put this on furniture or the refrigerator because chances are when it comes time to clean, it will get ruined.
This comes with a rare item code that can be redeemed for a special item at the Grundo warehouse. There is no way to know exactly what you are going to get when you redeem a code and no matter how old a product is or how ridiculously low a price you go tit for, you will get something cool in exchange for the code. If you are having trouble finding the redeem section, use this URL:
http://www.neopets.com/space/warehouse/prizecodes.phtml. If you have any trouble redeeming [since this is an older product and is retired from the site] you can send a NeoMail to TNT [The Neopets Team] by using the Contact Us link on most pages. I didn't have any trouble redeeming and ended up getting a snowflake shaped cake that was selling for about eight thousand NP.
These stickers are great for girls that are into the specials and the colors that were chosen for them will compliment pretty much any type of book cover, notebook or school folder; as expected there are companion pieces to collect that also have the Aisha figure on them. Since most of the school items released 2007 and earlier have been discontinued you may have trouble finding these. There are several different sticker sets so you really do need to know the ins and outs of them before you start tracking them down. Some might argue that since they are discontinued that the price should be whatever the seller wants them to be; hey, that's the beauty of an open market but at the end of the day, is it really fair to rip off kids that are into Neopets and the species just to make a couple dollars?
The Bottom Line
I am glad that I found these and the other stickers in the series. Neopets is getting ready to release some new school things so be sure to look for them in the authorized stores that carry Neopet products in your area. The designs are cute and girlie and you are getting a total of sixteen stickers [two of each design] so I'd say that I'd be will to pay as much as $1.50 a package for them if I came across them again.
If you are interested in learning more about the Aisha species you can check out the pet page at the website: www.neopets.com/aisha. I might not like cats but these little critters are pretty cute and relatively harmless, well, unless they get zapped by the Lab Ray.
As always, thanks for the visit
