| Freak369's Full Review: Neopets Trading Card Game Battle for Meridell Comm... |
If you play or battle at the Neopet website you know that there are some weapons that can be extremely expensive to collect. The Tangled Net Gun is one of them. I rarely battle my pets and it's usually only when there is an avatar involved or I am bored senseless and know that I can beat some of the challengers. The TCG is something that can be played by kids and adults and it really adds a lot to the whole Neopet experience. I used to play when there were local events but those types of sanctioned games dont happen all that often, most of the time you only come across them when Neopets releases a new theme or a boost set. Even so, I have had a lot of fun collecting the cards and it's always nice to get ones that have a lot of detail to them.
Neopet TCG "Tangle Net Gun" 138/140
Imagery: Visually the card has a lot going on. If you are familiar with a Tangle Net Gun at the website you will know that when it is fired at an object or Neopet it will ensnarl them in a net that they will have a hard time escaping from. That's what's happened here. The little Kacheek manages to outsmart two Darigan meanies [what looks like a Korbat and Kougra] by using the Tangle Net Gun on them. The playability of the card is limited because you need to have a Water Neopet active. From the artistic side of things, this is a great card with lots of color and detail to it and if you are a fan of the Kacheek special you will crack a little smile knowing that the little guy managed to outwit the two meanies.
Deck Series: Battle For Meridell
Promo Card: No
Strength: N/A
Agility: N/A
Magic: +3
Intelligence: +2
Banking this card will give you +2 towards the goal of 21; since there are no points for Strength and Agility you would be best off playing this when you have built those up or if you are in dire need of a Magic point boost. Because you need to have a Water pet equipped to use this it might limit your use of it if you are playing with Dark or Fire pets but it is a nice card to have in your deck. If you are looking to trade for this card make sure that you dont give up anything of too much value; go with something that has equal point values for the different arenas or has the maximum of +2 banking points.

When I started looking on line for prices I almost fell off my chair laughing when I saw that some people on eBay wanted a dollar for this card. At best it will get .25 cents and that is if it is in mint condition with no marring or scratches. Most sites will sell this for a little less than a quarter but you have to be careful what they are going to hit you with for shipping fees. This is classified as a "C", common card, by Neopet standards. It is something that you will get about two or three times if you buy a box of cards and if you buy the individual packets, you will get one in about every ten. I have five of them from the various boxes and packs I bought so I am well stocked on them if I ever decide to start playing again.
Directions: Play this on one of your Water Neopets and roll a six to win the event. Doing so will prevent all players from untapping on their next turn. You can use this as a stall tactic if you find yourself stuck for a good move or if you want to increase your points in the Magic category.
Quote: "That should keep you tied up for a while" The Tangle Net Gun is a nice card to have for obvious reasons as it trips up players on their next turn and also sees you banking +2 towards the total of 21 points needed to win the event.
If you battle at the Neopet website the Tangle Net Gun is a useful item to have. It does have a rarity of r99 so it is something that could cost you a lot of NP if you arent careful about bidding on it. The going prices for it now range between two million and four million NP. Other expensive battle items include "Radish Bow", 2,000,000 NP, "Starry Battle Dung", 5,000,000 NP and "Yoyo of Death", 8,000,000 NP. All of these are sold exclusively in The Hidden Tower section of the site.
To get a better look at this card you can check your TCG album at the website [Inventory / TCG / Checklist] or you could take the easy route and cut and paste this URL into your browser:

Other awesome banking cards include:
"Faerie Bottle" 6/140, "King Skarl Plushie" 12/140,"Tower Shield" 56/140,"Green Paint Brush" 77/140,"Shoyru Plushie" 94/140 and "Battle Hammer" 118/140
The Bottom Line
This is a common card that you will come across often if you play at events or are into trading the TCG cards. It might not have a high dollar value or be something that is sought after at events but if you think about the potential of the card and play it at just the right time it could help you buy some time and really throw a monkey wrench into other players game plans. Sure you get a +2 for banking but for me its the art of the card that really makes it appealing. Lots of detail, vibrant colors and a Kacheek! You dont get to see all of the detail of the Tangle Net Gun on the card so if you are interested in it, check it out at the Neopet website and if you have a couple extra million NP floating around, head on over to the Hidden Tower and get one for yourself.
As always, thanks for the visit
