Pros: Dark and scary artwork, ability to bank or draw a card,
Cons: Requires a Fire Neopet to be able to play it.
The Bottom Line: A great looking card playable in any arena; if you win an event that you didn't start you are allowed to bank or pick a card from your deck.

| Freak369's Full Review: Neopets Trading Card Game Battle for Meridell Rare... |
When I built my NeoHome I knew that I wanted it to be in the Haunted Woods. Where else would you expect to find an MSP Poogle [_Pyretta_Blaze_]? I can't take complete credit for my MSP Poogle, it was a product of the Lab Ray and chances are I will never zap it again because it just looks way too scary and creepy. If I had my choice to move my NeoHome to any other location it would have to be Darigan Gardens. You cant do that so the point is moot but if I could, I would do it in a heartbeat because it is the home of some of the most sinister and darkest of Neopets. If you are looking for a good location card that can scare other players out of an arena, this is the one to try to collect.
Neopet TCG "Darigan Gardens" 36/140
Imagery: With the Darigan garrison in the background, this card is filled with all types of dark and creepy delights. The Coconut JubJub's sitting on the log are just one of the many interesting things going on in this card. The various plants in the scene are colorful but looks can be deceiving because they are poisonous and deadly. The overall dark tone of the card is enough to scare newer players out of an arena and because you can play this in any of the four you dont have the same restrictions that you would have with other location cards in the Battle For Meridell deck. In the background there is a tree that might be confused with the Brain tree but it isn't it, it lacks that large, slimy pulsating brain shaped top but it is intimidating nonetheless. This card is the exact opposite of "Meridell Gardens", card number 17 in this deck.

Since this is a location card and not one of a Neopet or item there are no stats to the card. That does not lower the playability of the card or its overall worth. Because it is listed as having an "R" [rare] rating it might not be a card that you come across all that often when collecting or paying; its because of that fact that you might have an advantage when gaming against unseasoned payers; I am not saying that it is right to take advantage of them or to beat them into the ground but it is nice to have a curveball type card to play every once in a while. Regardless of whether you collect the cards for the artwork or to use them in TCG events, this is one of the nicest looking of the dark cards and probably on of my favorites next to "Oubliette" or "Blugthak".
Year Released: 2004
Series Number: 36/140

According to Neopets classification of this card it is considered to be "rare". From the boxes and decks I have purchased and opened I have only gotten two of them and because of the stunning artwork and the fact that I like to build different decks, that just isn't enough for me. When I started looking to buy a few more of these I was quoted prices in the $1.00 range but managed to find some online sites that were willing to sell them for .50 cents each if I bought ten of them. I like the card but I am not going to be strong-armed into having to buy then of them and then pay $6.00 for shipping. I'll take that sixteen dollars and go buy packs of cards and try to get a few more that way. Because this is listed as a "rare" card it makes it seem like it is impossible to come by but it isn't. Don't get fooled into thinking that you won't find this in packs.
Directions: Working this into a game is easy, all you have to do it use it at the beginning of an event; if you are not the person that started it and you end up winning you can bank a card or draw another one from your deck. It can work against you if another player has a more powerful card to use so don't use this against someone that you have never played before; knowing a players habits can be just as helpful as knowing each and every card they have at their disposal. Another perk to this card is that it can be played in any of the four arenas so you dont have to stick with one game plan to use this.
Quote: "The Haunted Woods would be proud" If you are a player at the Neopets website then you know all about the Haunted Woods and all the dark, creepy things that reside there. This card is a good take on the spookier side of the things that you can come across at the website and why you should never go trolling around without knowing exactly what you may come up against.
The image of the card here shows none of the detail of it and it looks extremely dark in hue. Trust me, there is a lot going on in this card and there are time when you look at it that you will swear the knots in the tree are smiling at you. If you want to see this card in all its glory visit your TCG checklist or album at the website. To make it even easier, just cut and paste this URL into your browser window:

If you game at the website there are some very cool Darigan related things that you can get; some of my personal favorite picks include the "Darigan Angelpuss Action Figure", "Lord Darigan Stamp", "Darigan Jetsam Yoyo", "Darigan Muffin" and "Darigan Dice Set". Collectible cards, both virtual and real world include "Darigan's Blight", "Darigan Paint Brush", "Darigan Uni" and the incredibly awesome "Lord Darigan". These are just some of the Darigan related items that you can come across at the site, there are a lot more of them including special items that wont come up in Shop Wizard searches like the "Darigan Kougra Plushie", "Darigan Eyrie Cracker", "Darigan Storytime" and "Wind Up Darigan Pteri".
The Bottom Line
The artwork on the card is awesome and something that you really need to see in person to appreciate. As far as the playability of the card, that is left up to the individual player to determine. If you are into building theme decks then this one works great if you dont have that many location cards or have a lot of Fire Neopets that you plan on using. I don't battle or attend the TCG events all that often any more because there are rarely any in my area; when they release a new theme or deck there are sanctioned events sponsored by Neopets but even those seem to be few and far between these days.
As always, thanks for the visit
