Pros: Nice artwork, easy to play, +2 for items in Magic arena.
Cons: Limited to Magic arena, no other perks for stats or banking.
The Bottom Line: It's a basic location card, get it for the artwork and you won't be disappointed.

| Freak369's Full Review: Neopets Trading Card Game Battle for Meridell Unco... |
Illusen is one of the many faeries that you will encounter in Neopia; she is one of the kindest of the group but her quests can be brutal when you get to the higher levels. About the only time you will see her demeanor turn from bright and cheery to mean and spiteful is when you mention Jhudora. Jhudora is a dark faerie and like Illusen she also has quests at the site; complete them and you will be rewarded handsomely but if you miss even one of them you will have to start over at the beginning. While the "Illusen's Glade" card may only be a Location card, if you collect the TCG's for their artwork, this one is one of the better uncommon cards in the Battle For Meridell series.
Neopet TCG "Illusen's Glade" 78/140
Imagery: When you think of Illusen's Glade you think of a lush green field with pixies and sprites dancing around on a gloriously sunny day. Chances are you don't think of a treetop hideaway that looks rather rickety. Even though the card has a lot of detail to it, it isn't exactly what you think of when you hear the name of the card. There is a lot of detail to the wooden planks that make up the floors and walls of the tree cabin but it's the little things that really make this card sweet. The lookout towers, red lantern and foliage are all perks to the artwork but if you look close, in the background you will see a rope bridge done up in the same style as the one that is partially covered by the text box.

Some people might see this as a rather useless card because it lacks any stats or banking points; from a gaming point of view I can certainly understand that but it is the +2 that you get added on to items in the arena when the card is in play. Getting two points added to something might not sound all that impressive but when you have powerful items equipped or already active that extra two points could really help you out later in the events.

Location
Neopets has this classified as an uncommon card; for once I think they actually pegged it correctly because from the various packs I have bought I have only managed to get two of these. You dont need to have more than one of them unless you are building specific decks with themes like Light, faeries or based on certain characters. The average selling price for this is in the .20 to .30 cent range for mint cards. Since it is classified as uncommon there might be some people that will try to rip you off in a trade or sale but dont fall for their line of crap, keep getting the packs and eventually one will surface. The highest I have seen this selling for is two dollars and that was a complete rip off; yeah, the card looks great but it doesnt have that many redeeming qualities in gameplay.
Directions: This Location card can only be played in the Magic arena but can be used by anyone; it is a good card for beginners because there are no restrictions to it except that it has to be played in a specific area / arena.
Quote: "You better have that Star Tree or there's going to be trouble!" Some users have said that they received cards that did not have a quote on them; I have never been able to get an answer from anyone at Wizard's of The Coast about whether there was a misprinted run of the cards or if people were getting bogus ones from online sellers.
If you want to get a clearer look at this card, visit your TCG album at the website or just cut and paste this URL into your browser, http://images.neopets.com/tcg/c_meri/0078_UL07.gif. More often than not the images here show the card being much darker than they actually are as well as that pesky watermark from a certain online card site that appears on a few of the Neopet TCG cards.
If you are a fan of Illusen there are several different TCG cards to collect both in the real world as well as at the website. Some of the best include "Illusens Quest", "Illusens Faerie Globe", "Illusens Potion Book', "Illusen's Charm", "Illusen's Staff' and 'Illusen's Ring". Illusen items are always good sellers and there are a lot of players that have galleries full of her items; some of the coolest are the "Wind Up Illusen Doll", "Illusen Wardrobe", "Illusens Staff Stamp" and "Toy Illusen Bow And Arrow Set". You can also check out the Illusen Glade quest styled game here: www.neopets.com/games/play.phtml?game_id=160. If you can't complete a quest in the time allotted you will have to start over from the beginning.
The Bottom Line
While this isn't one of the most exciting cards to play it will give your items in the Magic arena a small boost. For those that collect the cards for their art or for making special decks it is one of the better uncommon cards. Annabelle started getting into the cards when we started getting the plushies from the Mc Donald's Happy Meal promotion but she likes to collect the cute girlie ones and has no interest in playing the TCG [yet]. Location cards aren't the most eventful cards to play but they are necessary to the game as a whole. Even if it isnt something that I normally pick for a hand or when making a deck the artwork more than makes up for its slightly boring tone.
As always, thanks for the visit
