King Skarl has a bad reputation; on one hand he is sneak and underhanded when it comes to war and fighting but his subjects are loyal to him because he treats them with respect. When you start collecting ay of the Neopet TCG [Trading Card Game] cards you will get the impression that Skarl is just a big bag of hot wind that sit around eating and being a bully. Well, in part that is the truth but he has done a lot of good things for his kingdom and when he has had to dole out a punishment, he has been fair about it. Skarl is part of the Skeith species, the largest in all of Neopia.
Imagery: This is a nice looking card that has a lot of detail to it; if you play at the website of have knowledge of the various foods you will see some very familiar items. Stone Soup, Bunch of Tomatoes, Yeastry Bread, Cup of Water and Roast Turkey are a few of the food items that are on the table. You also get a nice looking Usuki and a laughing Techo in attendance with Skarl. One of my biggest complaints about some of the cards is that they were boring and not a lot of fun to look at, that isn’t the case with this card. While the game properties allow you to bank and extra piece of food, this is just as much fun to look at as it is to play in an event. Like all of the other "Something Has Happened" cards in this series, it has a nice rich purple border around the edges of the card and within the scene there are a lot of colors and visuals to take in.

This card has no stats listed because it is a "Something Has Happened" card; these are cards that can be played at varying times during the game to steal items off another player, increase stats or remove cards from other players. Knowing when to play a card like this is key; use it at the wrong time and you might be setting yourself up for failure a few moves later. If you look in the top right corner you will see that this is classified as an Earth card and it has small arrows around it meaning that it is a card that, when played, causes an item to be banked [although on other cards it can have other meanings like taking a card] as well as adding another food to your deck.

Something Has Happened | Earth
Directions: In order to use this card you have to have to be banking a food item; when you play this card on that turn you get to bank another food item. This is a great card to play if you see a food item that is rare [neggs are awesome to pick off another player] Since this is a Something Has Happened card there are no stats for it; this card can be played on any food item regardless of what it is. I played this one time and took a very nice card [134/140 Stale Bread] off another player.
Quote: "The guests simply couldn't believe that King Skarl was on his fifth serving and still going strong" This ties in to the overall view of the Skeith species; they aren't known for being very graceful eaters or fetching their own food.

The Bottom Line
This is listed as a rare card but it isn't. I purchased three boxes of Battle For Meridell cards and ended up with seven of these; three of which were traded for other Something Has Happened cards. The remaining cards were split; two were used for game play and two were stockpiled so they would stay in mint condition. The average selling price for this card is between .20 and .40 cents depending on who you are buying it off of and the cards condition. It is a nice card to play if you know that your opponent likes to whip out lavish foods; you can swipe the item and bank and extra food item in one turn.
