Pros:Very nutritious and easy to make.
Cons:Can be hard to find different varieties.
The Bottom Line: Very easy to mix and drink, very nutritious and very inexpensive. I would recommend it to anyone on a diet or anyone who wants to be full in the morning.
OK, I have to admit that I am a HUGE fan of breakfast food, all of it. Bacon, eggs, potatoes, pancakes, waffles, biscuits and gravy, bring it on! But, you can't eat like that ALL the time, right?

That's where something like Carnation Instant Breakfast by Nestle comes in. It's perfect, and much more nutritious than a large, fatty meal. In one small 12 oz. drink mixed with milk, you can get a large portion of your daily allowance of protein, calcium, carbohydrates, vitamin C and A, folic acid and your B vitamins all in one easy to mix and drink glass of milk. In fact, the product boasts that it contains 2X the protein of an egg and 2X the calcium of yogurt.
It's a very easy product to just mix in a hurry and chug or even take with you. The powder is very fine, and dissolves easily into about the consitency of chocolate milk. You can mix it up with just a spoon and there will not be any clumps left in the bottom of the glass, or any lumps in the actual drink itself.
And, it's surprisingly filling for a liquid drink which is great if you are trying to fight cravings or lose weight. I would recommend it to anyone on a diet. My suggestion is to also drink at least one glass of water with it, maybe even two, and you really should be full until lunch. What a great way to start your day off without being hungry and without feeling guilty that you ate something unhealthy like fatty bacon or a calorie laden muffin or doughnuts, right?
Another good thing about Instant Breakfast is how cheap it is. The 17.7 oz. cans are only around $5 and have 14 servings in them. How great is that? You can "eat" breakfast and not be hungry in the mornings for two weeks for 5 bucks. Much cheaper than a drink mix that you would buy from a health store of some place like GNC that could run you $20 or more for the same amount of drink mix with probably the same vitamins and minerals in it.
And, I have noticed that the longer I drink it, the less and less my body wants to eat more, so if you do have a craving, just fight through it and I guarantee the next day it will be a little better until finally you won't feel it at all. Make the weekends a day to indulge.
Carnation Instant Breakfast comes in a variety of flavors including Rich Milk Chocolate, Classic Chocolate Malt, French Vanilla, and Strawberry Sensation as well as a Variety Pack. And, it's really good! It's as good as any other chocolate milk I have ever tasted, and it's much better for you. However, it can be hard to locate some flavors even in big retailers like Wal-Mart or grocery stores like Safeway. The 17.7 oz. cans can be particularly hard to find.
The "No Sugar Added" Instant Breakfast uses sucralose as a sweetener, the brand name of which is Splenda. Sucralose is calorie free and is made from sugar but the body doesn't digest it like a carbohydrate. Actually, "No Sugar Added" was marketed as "Carb Conscious" during the Atkins Diet fad.
