I’m not sure exactly why I purchased a case of this stuff at Costco recently! I AM currently counting calories but I’m doing just fine without any help from weight-loss products. So, anyway, here I am at Costco & I see they have it on sale plus have a rebate which brought the price down to about $.50 a can. What the heck, I gave it a try.

What I like:
-Once you get past the initial gulp the taste is quite good. That first sip is pretty strong - not bad really - just strong. It tastes like chocolate milk not a chocolate shake as Nestle calls it.
-One 10 fluid ounce can provides 25% of the Daily Value of 19 minerals & vitamins (vitamins A, K, B12, C, D, E, & B6, iron, niacin, zinc, thiamin, biotin, iodine, copper, riboflavin, folate, pantothenic acid, magnesium, & manganese) & 35% of phosphorous & calcium.
-One can provides 10g of protein.
-I guess 200 calories per can isn’t so much. It only has 2.5g of fat & I know that’s good! 25 calories are from fat.

The problem I have with this “shake” is that it doesn’t fill me up for very long. I have had 5 of these shakes (one a day for lunch) & all but one time I felt hungry within an hour of finishing the can. Today I was not hungry afterward but I also had eaten a banana 15 minutes prior to drinking the shake!

I also feel that, for those who already have their eating & caloric intake under control, these shakes are unnecessary. I usually work out at least 4 times a week & have been successful at cutting back on calories without any fad diets or anything … just calorie counting … & don’t feel these would benefit me at all even though I am working to lose weight. For those who are having trouble cutting back on calories I guess this might help. But the fact that one can doesn’t fill you up for long would make me guess that you’d have to eat about an hour or so after finishing your shake. I realize grazing is a great way to eat but I think you should be aware that you probably won’t be taking in just 200 calories at lunch & then none until dinner; there will most likely be additional calories in there because you’ll probably be hungry soon!

I didn’t spend much on my case of Nestle Sweet Success. I’ll drink them & enjoy them but I won’t be buying any at retail price & I probably won’t buy any anywhere else. If you really want to try these weight-loss shakes I’d recommend buying just a couple at first & then see how your stomach responds!
