richlowejr's Full Review: NetGear WGR614 Wireless Router
I purchased the NetGear WGR614 Wireless Router after fighting with another router for a day without success. I was fed up - this is not rocket science and a wireless router should not be difficult.
I picked this router up at Wallmart, brought it home and plugged it in. The instructions say simply, "run the CD before installing the hardware". So that's what I did.
The CD walked me through the setup, step by step, making it trivially easy to install. Unplug this, plug in that, set the appropriate security, and so on. It look me about twenty minutes and I was up and running with the highest security possible.
I then went through and examined all of the various screens and mae a few adjustments, increasing security even more, and I was done. Setup took less than thirty minutes total.
I have two systems, so now I went over to the second system to get it to communicate on the wireless. My previous attempt with a different wireless router was difficult and I never really got it to work perfectly. The WGR614 experience was entirely different. I simply typed in the encryption key and I was done.
I've owned it for a few days now. No drops, no disconnects, in fact, no issues at all.
