I bought this product after my many reading in beauty mags about microdermabrasion treatments. I dont have the extra money to visit the dermatologist, or the time, so I was curious as to how this home product would live up. Initially, I thought I would just get a good scrub and it was my birthday weekend, so I plunked down the 40 bucks figuring what the heck.
After the first few nights, I did in fact have smooth skin and it felt like a good scrub. But towards the end of the week I feel in love. I have some forehead lines and the pores on my nose are noticeable, especially without powder on my nose. However, I was absolutely amazed that my brow lines lightend up a bit, they didnt look as deep. Most of all though I was thrilled to see that the pores on my nose for the first time ever, looked smaller. All those stupid years of facials, and toners, nope, this really did it. They are obviously still there, but as the same with my brow lines, less deep. Overall too, my skin feels smooth and looks a bit more flushed and healthy.
Some users complained that the product is annoying to take off. I do agree with this, so I too either recommend using the product before you get into the shower or I use a very light cetaphil soap to help rinse off the excess grit. Just a good rinse will help you out. Afterwards, I put on a good night cream and go to bed. This is best as your skin heals during the night, so you wont leave your skin "raw" and then slather on makeup. Also, let your moisterizer soak in.
The product comes with everything which is helpful. Batteries are included for the facewand and 2 little sponges for application. I have had my box for almost a month and have not ran through my jar yet. You are supposed to change the sponges after one month though. So its 40 bucks, but then you only need to buy the maintance stuff. Also, you use the product first for a week striaght, take a week off, then use 2-3 times a week after wards. You wont go through that much product as first either.
Some people have said that their face broke out. I dont get many breakouts, but my skin is very sensitive and gets very very dry in the winter. However, the grit has a thick base and afterwards I put on a good night cream, so I havne't had any problems at all. In fact, I have less little dry patches on my cheeks.
Hope you find that the product works just as well for you. As for me, I really am happy with this whim purchase and have added it to my night routine. :)
