MARIEROY's Full Review: Neutrogena Healthy Skin Anti Wrinkle Cream
Neutrogena Healthy Skin
Anti-Wrinkle Cream SPF15
A couple of weeks ago I used Oil of Olay Daily UV Protectant Beauty Fluid. I’ve had this lotion sitting on my shelf. So in fairness, perhaps it had been sitting there too long. I don’t know. But I hadn’t used it in awhile. I have oily skin and during the summer I don’t use as much moisturizer, if any.
But with the cold weather now here, and my face feeling like the Sahara Desert, I put this stuff on. After using it for several days, one morning I was looking into the mirror and noticed in direct sunlight these bumps on my right cheek. It wasn’t a red rash, but little bumps that had seemingly appeared from nowhere. They even felt weird and really bothered me. So of course I started thinking, what had I used lately that might have caused this type of a reaction.
So surmising that it was the moisturizer. I immediately stopped using the Oil of Olay moisturizer. Still I needed some kind of skin softener to use on my face. I was in the drugstore last week and noticed that Neutrogena Healthy Skin was on sale (regularly 12.99 for 9.99.)
The front of the box read:
A Retinol facial treatment with multi-vitamins. Visibly reduces the signs of sun damage, i.e. fine lines and wrinkles and age spots. Increases skin firmness. Softens and smoothes skin.
On further reading I learned these vitamins include Pro-Vitamin B5 and Vitamin E and special moisturizers.
“This is a creamy, non-greasy formula, and absorbs quickly into the skin. PABA-free SPF15 sunscreens give UVB/UVA protection.”
Aha! So this made me think that it might have been that the Oil of Olay that I had used may have contained the PABA ingredient, because it is a sunscreen but does not state that it is PABA free.
After using the Neutrogena for several days, I noticed the small bumps had started to disappear. Today I barely noticed them, and feel the application of the Neutrogena somehow helped to clear up this adverse skin reaction.
What I do like about Neutrogena is that it does not feel at all greasy after applying it. It really does become quickly absorbed into the skin, and when it does, my skin does actually feel better. I’ve always detested wearing any heavy moisturizer that leave the skin feeling as if there is 'something' on the face (which is why I don’t care to wear makeup per se.)
I’ve been using Neutrogena for Healthy Skin for several days now and will have to say that my face does look smoother, and the over all skin tone does appear more even, and best of all there’s no rash.
At my age I know it’s important to keep something on the skin to protect it from the elements, whether indoors or outdoors. Luckily I have the type of skin that does not develop or hasn't yet developed many wrinkles, only a few fine lines around the eyes.
I really do feel that by using this product it will help me maintain a youthful look by its regular use. I feel that Neutrogena Healthy Skin is actually good for my skin. I don’t mind putting it on in the morning or at night after washing my face. So far I’ve had no skin reaction (rash or bumps) using this product.
