shopprnicole's Full Review: Neutrogena Instant Bronze, Sunless Tanner and Bron...
I have been feeling lately that even though it is winter, everyone has maintained some kind of a healthy looking color except me. Being unwilling to use a tanning bed, I decided to try some sunless tanner. I have done this before with other brands and decided this time to try Neutrogena Instant Bronze Sunless Tanner and Bronzer In One, which is a "streak-free foam".
This product comes out of the bottle in a very dark, dark brown foam. This I had no problem with and the color was much lighter as I spread it on my skin. It went on easily and evenly. The bottle says "The sheer bronzer provides a hint of temporary, natural-looking color immediately upon application, and allows you to see where you've applied it to help eliminate mistakes for flawless, even coverage." I should have picked up on the problem here but did not, as you probably did not either. I will continue to explain.
So I was happy with how it was looking so far. I waited many hours....I think about 16, before showering. The only problem at this point was that the tanner on my body absolutely stunk. I couldn't get in the shower fast enough because the smell had gotten so heavy and strong, absorbed into my clothes and my bed and everything. Totally gross. Right before I went in the shower I was admiring my tan. The color was perfect and I was very happy. THEN I SHOWERED. I watched in horror as my tan was running down the drain. I thought maybe the actual tanner was coming off, but it had absorbed into my skin. Nope. I got out of the shower and saw my pale reflection staring back at me. Where did my tan that was supposed to last "for days" go? (From the bottle: Tan begins to develop in two to four hours and lasts for days.")
I then read the bottle again. It says, "The sheer bronzer is temporary color, and can wash off in water." Well I think this is a straight-up lie because the sheer bronzer didn't wash off---THE WHOLE THING WASHED OFF.
What a waste of money. So basically I paid for something to go on, wash off in water, and have it stink up myself and my bed and clothes, only for it not to work. Thank you Neutrogena.
