| VSP's Full Review: Neutrogena Rainbath Dry Oil Spray |
...and when I get out of the shower, I don't feel like slathering on lotion, so instead, I spritz some misty Neutrogena Rainbath Dry Oil Spray with the most wonderful fresh scent all over.
Please note, I love so many kinds of lotions. I will add this to my interests, that besides eating chocolate, I love using lotion. Many consistencies, many scents, many brands. Some people have affectionately called me the "Queen of Lotion," because they know I like to buy and use them and I often suggest some type of lotion to "cure" myself and others. "You have a lotion for everything," I've been told!
It was an old magazine ad for Neutrogena Rainbath Dry Oil Spray that created interest in me for trying this product, because it says you can spray the product from any angle. And how can an oil be "dry"? I was intrigued.
In the winter, I apply heavier, creamier lotion to moisturize my skin, but in the summertime, I don't have the time, nor do I have the patience, to deal with many kinds of lotions every day. Whether coming back from exercising, or going to the pool or the beach (in the New Jersey it's "going down the shore"), or waking up to New Jersey humidity to go to work in the summer, I just want to shower and feel sleek and smooth and fresh and just get going. Rainbath Dry Oil Spray really accomplishes this for me.
The spray bottle is extremely easy to use. And it's true, you can point the bottle in any direction and it will still spray (it makes this cute noise when you press the spray nozzle, a soft misting sound). It sprays on really lightly. After you spray it on, you can either air dry, rub it in with your hands, or use a towel. Overall, it dries fairly rapidly.
The scent is absolutely fantastic! I think it is very fresh and clean, and for some reason it reminds me of summer. It's not too powerful, but it's fairly long-lasting (like if you wear it under the sheets, you'll still smell it the next morning).
Also, after my skin is dry, it feels sooooo good. My fingers GLIDE over my skin, which feels much silkier! And I think it was the print ads too, that mentioned that when you put on silk afterwards it feels good. It does! For example, if you put on a silk dress or blouse (after the product dries), you won't have sticky residue from other types of products soaking through. Ultimately, it really is like spraying on something that turns into dry silk and smells great!
I've had my bottle a long time, and it hasn't run out yet. Please note Epinion'er Elorraine's review, she has a good point that it's hard to tell when the bottle runs out of product because it is an opaque white bottle. I think the bottle does feel lighter in weight as you go along, but maybe it's only in my head. But I agree with her that I wish there was a definite way to tell that it's almost time to buy a new one.
I definitely recommend this product, particularly for the summertime or for people who live in hot-weather climates, even humid ones. I don't recommend it for travel use. I have this (probably paranoid) fear that the bottle will blow up under pressure on an airplane. But you can tote it to a cabana for after swimming in the pool!
With an unusual 18 inches of snow that just fell in my town on Dec. 30, my mind is dreaming of warmer places (and getting to use Rainbath spray, instead of heavy creams and lotions to combat the chapped lips, plus the driest winter skin I've encountered in my life). Happy New Year, everyone! Thanks for reading, and give this one a try!
