Pros: Non-drying, Clean and easy rinsing
Cons: Non-foaming, expensive, annoying cap, too thin
I recently ran out of my trusty Nivea skin cleanser, I decided to get a new Neutrogena one when I saw it on sale for half price. Most Neutrogena products I try work very well, infect Neutrogena is my favorite drugstore brand, but Ive never used any of their cleansers.
Neutrogena has a line of skincare called Sensitive Skin Solutions, this features cleansers and a toner for oily, dry and combination skin types. My skin can be considered combination at this time, but its not really sensitive. I decided it wouldnt hurt to try this cleanser for sensitive, combination skin.
The Neutrogena Sensitive Skin Solutions Cleansing Wash for Combination and Sensitive Skin comes in a flat white tube, with a green label, (other cleansers in this line are labeled differently) holding 5.1 ounces of product.
The tube is rather pretty, but kind of complicated, the lid is screw on and its flat so its kind of a nuisance to screw it on and off, and watch out that you dont waste any cleanser in the meantime. If it were a flip on kind of lid, it would not only be a pretty tube, but a functional one too.
The cleanser its self is very thin, maybe too thin, pearly white and very similar to some shampoos in consistency and color. I use just a little bit, about the size of a nickel, this cleanser doesnt leather, or foam by the slightest little bit. It actually feels kind of slimy, it doesnt have any scrubbing beads in it, but I think it could use some; it would make it a little less watery. Once I rub it onto my face a little more its less slimy, but it still doesnt lather at all.
The best part of this cleanser is that rinses of easily and completely with a few splashes, it leaves my face soft, but not very moisturized. It worked to its name; it did not irritate my skin, and didnt make it more oily or dry. But it didnt do anything extra. Its just average.
This cleanser is available at most drugstores and grocery stores, as well as www.walgreens.com, www.drugstore.com and www.ulta.com for the average price of $7.99. I got it at a grocery store for half price, where the regular price was $9.99. That is a little expensive.
