Pros: Most natural color I've seen, easy to apply

The Bottom Line: This spray is much easier to apply than most creams. It dries fast and rarely streaks.

I’m a freckled redhead. I don’t tan well. Sure, by the end of the summer, I might have some color to my skin, but usually, I just burn. I have heard of people like me having wonderful results in tanning beds, but with all the scares about skin cancer (and the fact that sun exposure makes you look older, I don’t really like that angle.
However, I also don’t like my legs being so white they’re practically transparent. My solution? Self tanner. Which traditionally led to streaks and orange legs. I’d prefer to be transparent.
This summer, I noticed a lot of self-tanning products were marketing themselves as producing a natural color, so I thought I’d give one a try. I liked the idea of Neutrogena’s spray, for it dries in under five minutes, and is much easier to spread. With lotions, I had a tendency to allow the lotion to collect in certain spots on my legs, leading to a very splotchy tan.
I applied the product last night following a shower. It was very easy to apply. You don’t constantly have to spray the pump – one press produces a lengthy spray of the product. And it really is easier to apply to certain areas that can be difficult to reach with creams. I rubbed the product in to my legs, waited a few minutes, and it was dry. Perfect.
I didn’t notice the color all that much in 2 hours, as the bottle said I would. By 4 hours, however, I could see the tan. And the next morning, it was near to perfect. No streaks, a very natural color (not orange!). Of course, there is always that self-tanner odor, but that is a result of using any type of self-tanner. A good shower and scented lotion usually takes care of that.
All in all, I am very pleased with this product. It was easy to apply and left a wonderful tan. This will become part of my summer beauty routine.
