| ambersays's Full Review: Neutrogena Sunless Tanning Lotion Medium |
I have never tried a sunless tanner before, but thought I would try this one because I was curious as to if they really do work. Neurtogena sunless tanning lotion had some good reviews, and it happened to be on sale last week, so I thought, what the heck, if I turn orange or some other funky color, it's winter and nobody will notice!
I tried the the Neutrogena sunless tanning lotion in medium. I figured the lotion would be easier to control how much you put on, instead of the spray,(thinking I might get a little trigger happy with that one!)
The price is reasonable, I paid 6.00 for it. It is available pretty much everywhere, and comes in a plastic orange 120ml bottle. It is oil free, non-comedogenic,
and hypo-allergenic. Neutrogena also states on the back of the bottle that it is fast drying in less than 5 minutes, and not orange and streaky. It also says that it works with MOST SKIN TONES to provide a golden color thats natural looking. It is also safe to apply to the face.
The color will develop in 2 to 4 hours. This product does not contain sun screen.
MY OPINION ON NEUTROGENA SUNLESS TANNING LOTION:
I applied this product all over my body, except my face because I have problem skin there, and didnt want to cause more aggravation. I tried to get it evenly as best I could, it goes on quite smooth. The smell is a really strong floral smell, I didnt care for that, but it went away in a few minutes. I also washed my hands right away after applying it, to get the rest off.(it will stain your hands orange if you dont) It dried in about 5 minutes, and in a couple hours my skin turned a nice medium tanned look. It looked as natural as if I was in the sun all day.
The tan lasts about three days, then it starts to lighten up. I noticed it looked even for those few days, but when it starts to lighten, it gets a little patchy in some spots. I reapplied it, and the same even tan came back. I guess it wears off faster in certain spots? Its the only conclusion I could think of.
So, it worked well for me, but note that the bottle says " works on most skin tones" My husband tried it and he went a little orange, which is weird because he has a darker skin tone than me.
